Help Headlight bulbs gtv

ok ok......Can anyone explain this one to me, what are the correct bulbs for the gtv and a link please would be good....just had a set sent to me of ebay one 55 watt and a 65 watt only the 65 watt fits as its got a double groove on the inside of the bulb fitting and the 55 a single groove....halfords last time i went their bulbs did not fit....i think a link to the correct bulbs would be a great help as its not as easy as first thought to buy a bulb for a gtv

On mine they're HB3, and I think that is the most common fitment. If you take off the dust covers at the back of lights there should be the type imprinted on the yellowish plastic they fit in to.

For some unknown reason there are 3 combinations, some have both HB3, mine has those, some both HB4 and some one of each......only way to tell is have a look at what you take out.......

Yeap your right,hope this thread helps other people, its been driving me mad..

mine were all HB3 60watt including the dipped beam.. (I also have a xenon hb4 65 watt upgrade bulb which also fits but not to sure if they would overheat and damage the lense has anybody tryed these ? )

Thanks stu,you too have helped me to clear things up,i had no idea there was 3 combinations and i think the carparts shop i visited either didnt know too as the guide books all said one at hb4 and one hb3 .
