Just Bought A GTV Need Some Advice ?

Hi all,

I just bought a 96P GTV 2.0TS.

The motor has 58k on the clock, fsh (not all main dealer) and no evidence of having the cambelt changed.

The car was last service in October 2003 (54k service).

Do you guys think it would be safe to wait untill the 60,000 mile service (which would be about 3 months) to have the cambelt done, or should i get it done straight away ?

NOW!!! Your cambelt is probably as old as the car....8yrs is way over the recommended interval regardless of mileage. For future reference Alfa now say 36k for the cambelt. Might be worth having all the other stuff done too...variator, idlers and balancer.

You'll also find that if you ring up the Alfa dealers it's been serviced at, they'll check the computer and tell you exactly what has been done previous which'll give you a head start. But as suggested change it now!
