2001 gtv 3.0, what kind of tyre i have to buy

Hi,
I am looking for a spare tyre for my car. But i am not sure what I have to buy. Where can I find the exact spesifications. I know that it is wider than usual. And my Alfa has 19" wheels I guess.

Thanks for any response

the new space savers in netherlands are 120-150 euros. It makes more sense to buy a second hand regular wheel+tyre for that money. The problem is, I dont know any specifications of the wheel or tyre i have to buy.

the tyres fitted to my GTV on the 17" teledials are 225/40/17

spare is a spacesaver about 125 wide at the most, pumped to about 400000psi as instructed by the manual

Am I missing something, can you not just read the tyre size off the ones on the car?

Wrong size (there is a lot of it about...!!)
Should be 225/45R17

That sounds far too easy!
And as you can see above, isn't a reliable way of finding the "correct" size"

Fiat Bravo for now

I don't understsnd why my car runs on 205/50 R16 when the 17" wheels use 225/45 R17

225/45 R17 is around 5% bigger rolling radius.

Unless cars fitted with those wheel have the speedo re-calibrated.

About 3.76% difference in diameter.

They are the correct size though.
