Re: gtv gear knob

Yes... If it's like the 155 one there is a flattened face with a metal notch on the gear lever and the knob has a shaped plastic insert that presses down and "clicks" onto this notch.

To remove the knob, effectively you have to get the plastic moulding to ride over the notch (obviously the moulding is designed not to). So you have to tug it a lot or eventually cut it.

If you twist it as you pull it, you have more chance to make it come off (ooer! )

I take it thats why i haven't seen an original on ebay...I recently bought my GTV, and it has a tacky (IMO) metal one, that looks horrible and is freezing first thing in the morning!

Re: gtv gear knob

My original one was quite badly worn, some black leather dye and a good clean once it had dried with leather cleaner has made it look like new again The after market ones all look pretty tacky IMO.

If you do get it let me know how it is.
I've been thinking about replacing mine but you can't get these in a shop and view them and I don't want to spend the money then see I don't like it.
So you could be the ginnipig

Re: gtv gear knob

Mangoletsi had a few 3.0 GTV ones but wait for it.............they're approx. £90 Cough, cough, cough...... but that is the price of an OE part from a few dealers so it depends if you want to do it that much.
