Re: Official 916/946 UK Registrations

Jaydh the second spreadsheet is correct for the black 3.2 Spiders (sorry I looked at the first one), so the reduction from 2 to 1 in 2003 is correct.

Interesting also to see only 5 1995 Spiders left in UK, and I have the only one in metallic Tropico Verde

Re: Official 916/946 UK Registrations

As a silver 98 ts lusso spider, I appear to have one of only 15 left on the road in the UK... rarity indeed!

Big thanks to the OP for the data, there's a huge demand for this info for all marques, shame it's not readily available.

15 in 1998, but there are others around in other years.

Re: Official 916/946 UK Registrations

I own the original press car for the launch of the 3.2 spider, Alfie is in great condition and is the only 3.2 I know of with satnav, it is a becker unit that has not broken down, not like the gearbox, radiator and clutch but ho hum not complaining, just being real about the love affair with Alfa Romeo's
best wishes

Re: Official 916/946 UK Registrations

Hi, I've got a Black '95 V6 3.0 imported in 1996 from Belgium. Can't see that one on the list!

Unfortunately someone hit me at christmas and is currently being rebuilt..... probably end-up with a 'Q' plate as the damage was extensive; chassis swap was only solution!

Re: Official 916/946 UK Registrations

thanks for the info, great thread, disturbing reading for my year, in 2001 there was 102 blue t.s, 8 yrs later that number has dwindled to 30 easy math really 9 blues are going of the road every year so in just over 3 yrs time every blue 01 model will have gone?

Don't suppose you have a VGC P1 pastel black passenger door lying around?

There is one in 1997 which I would guess is yours. Not sure why it is in 1997 though...

Hmmm Proteo Red (195)

Hello jaydh

I have managed to pick up an original 1998 Spider Body Colours brochure so thought i would check the data in your file against the official body colour options from 1998.

In the 1998 official Spider brochure, there are the following 9 body colour options (and codes) which were available for the 2.0litre TS Spiders (16V and 16V Lusso):
Rosso Red 130
Black 601
Proteo Red 195
Acid Green 302
Tropical Green 309
Atoll Blue 473
Light Grey 612
Titanium Grey 613
Metallic Black 632

I wonder if this means that the 1 white and 16 yellow cars registered in 1998 (according to your file) were imports as they are not listed in the brochure? Quite likely, although I have to say I have never seen a yellow Spider on a 1998 R/S plate. Can anybody confirm if they do exist?

Also, on your file there is the colour called 'Others' - I wonder if this refers to Proteo Red and/or Acid Green? The reason I believe this maybe true is because the other 7 colours listed on the 1998 Spider brochure are accounted for on your file (assuming your file's Black means both the Black 601 and Metallic Black 632) - so 'Others' can only be 1 or both of these colours.

I'd be interested to get your feedback and any other opinions.

Simon

which file are you talking about? one of them contains imports, i think its the cars currently on the road file.

Erm, I dont know. But there are two reds so if the 2 blacks are covered together, the 2 reds should be too, same as acid and tropical green.

I notice there are 2 red 3.2 spiders registered in 2003, one of em is mine which one I don't know, but it was once owned by Alfa Romeo's press department, then me, I will post some photo's of it on line when i get the chance to find out wether it was used for any promo shots, as I am sure it was used for an article in Top Gear, maybe some one has the original article.

Alfa Romeo GTV Twinspark

This thread makes me feel very very bad about scrapping my beloved 'Azzura' (1998 T-spark lusso, blue). However I would like to assure everyone that the car that was scrapped was a shell, shedding its parts to keep others on the road. I like to think of it as carrying a donor card.

Anyhow, another to scratch from the list. Now to find my next one (wont kill that one though, promise!).

...and after that, I find my red 2.0 GTV TS (623) is the most commonly occurring of the lot. Common as muck! But probably rarer than an Audi TT or an M5 I take some comfort from that . Thanks for digging out the info JayDH.

First post, so be gentle...

Looking thru the spreadsheets for regestered GTV's, it looks like I may have the Last Meteor Grey 3.0 Phase 2.... Only one registered in 2002, and I bought mine new in 02....

Any one else got the same colour / year in a 3.0..?
