Help Where's my horn...?

Guys,

I'm having trouble with my horn...the one belonging to my GTV. I'm having trouble locating it. It was beeping a few weeks back before going into silence. Wiring seems ok inside, relays working etc. The only thing I can think it'll be is the horn itself, but where is it?

Help please?.

Re: Where's my horn...?

If you have an early GTV then the horn is below one of the light clusters (I'm not sure which one though). You need to remove the light cluster to get to it.

If you have one of the later GTV's ('98 onwards) then the horns are directly in the middle behind the bumper. See the two black circular things poking up from the centre of the bumper in the following picture...

It's a 2001 model. You know, I thought it was there, just wasn't sure.

Thanks Giallo!

Re: Where's my horn...?

Hmm, i found out (or Jamie Porter did) that the GTV horn is earthed through the streering column and bearings provide some of the earthing, if the earthing isnt good the horn wont work reliably...Jamie re-wired a good earth and sorted...horny bastard me.

Re: Where's my horn...?

Woohoo, the horn lives! One of the connections at the horn itself had a bit of corrosion on it. Bit of rubbing and the old boy started working again!
