Close call (cam belt)

I started the GTV this morning to scope up the output of the cam sensor. There was a bit of a clonk, so I turned it off and investigated.

This is what I found:

Looks like a bracket that the long belt-cover bolt screws into had sheared off, and got tangled up in the pulley.

Bit of a downer, but at least the whole belt didn't go. Got a new one and put it on in record time. £25 worse off, but at least I still have an engine.

I'm rained off at the moment, but just got to put the belt cover back on and hopefully all will be well.

I'm looking for a new one of these if anyone has one

Cheers,

Iain

I don't want to think about that!

Yep...it had done about 7 miles

Still...good practice, isn't it? Only took me about 3 hours to change it this time!
