Looking for a cheap endpipe.

I'm looking for a cheap end pipe without muffler.

I already have the Ragazzon mid pipe (without muffler), and am looking to replace the original endpipe (which has a mufflerbox).

I don't care whether it's Ragazzon, Madeno, Novitec, Larini, or whether it's second hand. I just need a cheap end pipe.

It does have to be a single (main) pipe though, I'm not after the 4 end pipes solution yet.

Any advice?

Found this one on gazzella - Perhaps you could find it cheaper somewhere else though... ?

Or my one:

The OE back box has 2 silencers, not one. It will be pretty loud I presume having no silencers.

I think both of those are sold with the centre pipe attached. I already have this... don't I?

Re: Looking for a cheap endpipe.

I just bought mine exactly as it looks in the picture, and it's attached to my standard OE centre pipe which of course has a silencer. Your end pipe looks non-standard in one of your pics where I can see it, but I take it it has a silencer?

Mine now sounds like so:

My end pipe is standard.

And my centre set up is this Ragazzon pipe:

Your sound is good, but I want reverberation off the nearest tall structure/building. Will I be able to fit what you suggest on the end of what I have?

Re: Looking for a cheap endpipe.

I would be massively surprised if your Ragazzon centre pipe for a 3.0 GTV didn't fit with a Ragazzon rear pipe for a 3.0 GTV; it has to fit. Would love to hear how loud it would be with no silencers at all.

Holy ****, I would love to hear that.

Remember I have a 2001 3.0 24V though (Euro3, CF3 engine) so I have 1 front silencer right after the cats, 1 mid silencer, and 1 end pipe silencer.

I replaced the mid silencer with a straight through pipe and in this thread am looking to replace the end silencer aswell. I would still have the front silencer though.

I would love to hear yours compared to a 360, (if you removed all the silencers).

Very very!!!

I had mine running while i had my exhaust off to weld up some holes.

Removed after the cat. Like a bomb had gone off if you put your foot down!!

Ah ok, I'm not familiar with the CF3 exhaust layout Gold.

I think we're all agreed we'd love to hear Big Dog's GTV with no silencers at all!

I have tried from in the car whiles on the road and you get a lot of wind noise. Will have to ask my friend Bruce nice and see if I can barrow his bullet camera!!

Re: Looking for a cheap endpipe.

Nice, that is a frightening sound! That must be incredible over 4.5k revs!

You can record from inside the car with the windows open, you'll still get a good idea of the sound from that. In fact even with the windows closed you get a good sound.

I'm still loving my new sound (no rear silencers, just one on the mid-pipe), and am just looking for excuses to use the car because of it!

I think I have exactly the same car as you.

I take it you left the front muffler inplace?

I've replaced the mid muffler with a Ragazzon pipe and am now thinking of replacing the endmufflers with straight ragazzon.

Do you think this will be too loud? I know everyone's idea of loud is different. I just want nicely loud.

Not that people hear me coming from 7 streets away.

Re: Looking for a cheap endpipe.

Gold, have a look at this page:

Full Alfaholics Stainless Steel Sports Exhaust System for 3.0 V6 GTV

This shows the 4 sections of a 3.0 V6 exhaust.
1. 2 front pipes
2. Cat (Catalytic converter)
3. Centre box with one silencer (muffler)
4. Rear section with 2 silencers

Although this is all in stainless steel, it's a copy of the original AR system, with the same amount of silencers in the same positions.

Technically, mine is exactly as shown apart from the rear section, where I now have the Ragazzon straight-through pipe with no silencers. So as far as I'm concerned I am just running one silencer (centre pipe one) and I lost two silencers by replacing the AR back box to the straight-through Ragazzon one. I still have the original Cat in place.

Going from Big Dogs set-up, he has no silencers but has kept the cat. For me that's too loud for every day use. Though it sounds great, it would be too much for me all the time and I can imagine the cops pulling me over if they heard me accelerating...

Is your system exactly the same as pictured in the Alfaholics page apart from a straight-through Ragazzon centre section?

Re: Looking for a cheap endpipe.

I use my GTV every day and go to work at 4am. No complaints as of yet but plenty of time
It's not overly loud inside the car but you do get the sound that makes you want to grab the car by the scruff of it's neck to hear the sweet Italian melodic sounds. Stand behind the car and not even bacteria survives!!!!!

From the cats back I went with a Ragazzon Stainless Steel Centre Pipe without silencer and then the Ragazzon Stainless Steel Sports Pipe without Silencers Left/Right with DTM 2x70mm Tail Pipes

Re: Looking for a cheap endpipe.

I have a video file from inside my car – taken with both windows open and closed – I'll try and upload that and let you all hear how it sounds from the 'drivers' perspective. The video itself it rubbish as the camera is swinging all over the place as it was hanging from the passenger headrest, but the sound is pretty good
