Thats the one. I wonder if that will make much difference on a straight through system.

And on that note, if were going to get straight through pipes I wonder what difference in sound a Novitec or a Madeno would make compared to Ragazzon.

Anyone know what's characteristic of the sound of Ragazzon?

She a 3.0 v6 24v . Not sure what you mean by CF2 or CF3.
I did see a set of Decat pipes for the car on FleeBay that made me think when I had the TVR Cerbera Decated and ended up sounding like I had the Taliban in the boot!
Henc I kept the cats and went the way I did.
I also looked into a carbon air box and remap and was told it really wasn't worth paying silly money for very little gain.
Not sure if that is true or not?

Re: Looking for a cheap endpipe.

Fitted the BMC CDA is quite expensive, but the price I had included ducting the air feed from the very bottom of the bumper. If you do go that way do NOT drive in big puddles, otherwise your engine dies!

Some pics of CF variant engines:
Alfa CF1/2/3 Engine Identification

CF3 is the later of the three versions of the 3.0 24v engines.

Yeah that's my one with the three cats. No idea if I can replace them all with 1 racecat.

I had mine mapped by Squadra, he's the Alfa mapping God in Holland.

I did notice a difference, it's more torquey lower down. Not a vast difference but definitely something.

Re: Looking for a cheap endpipe.

Guys, here's a video file taken from inside the car: 3l_GTV_windows_up_n_down.flv - Video - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

First with windows up, then from 25 seconds with them down (you'll hear the squeaky window ops: ).

It seems to sound a little deeper since that video was taken.

Oh yeah, the recording is made from my Sony camera hanging from the passenger headrest, so the video is terrible, and you can hear the camera knocking against the seat a bit, but thankfully the sound of the car is plenty loud enough

Big Dog, you got people holding their breath here to hear your clip man.

PS: Just to confirm you left the front silencer in place? (the one after the cat and before the midsilencer (the latter which you replaced by a Ragazzon pipe?)

Or did your car never have the front silencer right after the cats?

Re: Looking for a cheap endpipe.

I have been like Billy no mates and have had no one to hold my phone while I give it some beans.
I have taken out the middle box and replaced it with a straight ragazzon centre pipe. So after the cats, it's all ragazzon scaffolding pipes!! All 3 boxes have been removed.
Will get the Missy when she comes home at 1pm and promise I will have the video up by 3pm. Very sorry again.
Also by 3pm I will get a in car video of the Fezza 360 and the TVR Cerbera to compare just to make up for it!!!!
Will I be forgiven!?

Re: Looking for a cheap endpipe.

Nice one Big Dog! Strangely enough the 360 sounds quite restrained, and I reckon your GTV sounds the best of the three! I didn't think it sounded too loud at all, though maybe the thumb had something to do with that??

Can't believe I took her out this afternoon, only so she could stuff it up!! Would have done a lot better if I took the bloody YTS boy out from work to do it!!!!
The missy has now been put in her place.

What an awesome sound. Especially the gurgle when it's just starting up. Are you getting a BMC CDA? I wonder what that will do to the sound.

Also do you still have the original cat or do you have a race cat?

The sound is amazing, but in vids like this it's best to hit country roads instead of a highway as there's a lot more gearshifting and less wind noise.

I had been warned of removing all the mufflers, but judging from your video's it's more than acceptable. From your first video it sounded like the gtv was actually louder than the TVR. Is that true? having heard a lot of TVR's and knowing how damn loud they are I find that hard to believe.

On another note, I've always wondered how much slower the 3.0 24V GTV is than a Ferrari acceleration or forward thrust wise.

Can you share some experiences? Mind you take into account that you were probably suffering from pbs during the ride in the 360. (passenger brick-it syndrome).

Re: Looking for a cheap endpipe.

Hi Gold, I can't think what the air filter is called and it's none of the above. All I know is that it was fitted to my mates Griff and it's a non oil base, shinny mesh thing!!!!! He's the expert and tells me it will sound miles better. Hope it doesn't have a knock on affect with the MAF.
I'm still using the original CATS.
The Cerbera is de-catted with small mufflers at the exits on the Blue flame system. It is MORE louder than the GTV in a heavy v8 sort of way, blatant and I would go as far to say unrefined if it was being compared to a v6.
As for the Ferrari drive vs. the Alfa Drive! Will try my best.....
We all know the down fall to the Alfa (or I think so) is that it's not RWD. The thrust acceleration as you put it isn't that much different from the Fezza in gears 1-3 but the Fezza is longer lasting and not that nice of a sound as the GTV is. Also remember that I'm trying to compare a 400bhp rwd car to a fwd 230bhp car!!! What makes the Fezza really special over the TVR and the Cup is that it just sucks in the corners so bleeding good. The GTV is great in the corners also but once the 360 is in sport mode it feel like nothing is going to un stick you. Compared to the TVR, put it on the straight and the 15k worth of British monster will eat the 65k worth of Stallion.
Would I have a 360? Yes for about a month or so and would be happy to hand it back just to say I have had the pleasure!
The Cup is a lot of car for little money. The Alfa Spider TS was my 1st car and 2nd car, now I have got the Cup it feels that there is something so right about them to me. To me Alfa's and TVR's are made with REAL passion. You get a sense of no nonsense and no stuck upness about them but ALFA please, START MAKING affordable RWD CARS. My bank manager is telling me I can't have a 8c!!!!!!
