New(ish) 3.0 V6 owner in Scotland - badges/track days/local specialist etc...
My friend persuaded me to get rid of my 1.9tdi Octavia last April and I have to say I've noticed a few subtle differences between my GTV and the Czechs' finest since then.
The fuel consumption is obviously dissimilar, the wind noise at speed is still there, I'm glad I still drive a head-turning beast, and it has a working sunroof. Oh, wait...sorry, nearly got carried away there. The stereo worked in the Skoda too. Oh, glory days...
So, I'm based in Fife, am heartened to learn that the myriad of little niggles I've had with my car are not exclusive to me, and am writing this entry having trailed through some 180 odd pages of threads and posts so I don't ask too many obvious questions.
My car's faults/endearing personality traits so far:
Knackered air flow meter (fun on Tay Bridge slip road at rush hour), dented door cards, radio code missing, radio no longer functioning, broken aerial, seized(maybe) sunroof motor - I like the fact that they've obviously anticipated this problem and have given you a manual key for the inevitable, no master key (I was an Alfa virgin, I knew no different, although I gather Essex cobblers can sort you out pretty well), a constantly illuminated airbag light (there are two receipts for this problem in the service history...) and the noisy, gusty windows.
So, in the short term, could someone help me with two questions - good Alfa specialists in my area (North East Fife), and what I should expect to pay to replace the rear bumper Gtv and V6 badging that someone has seen fit to prise off and leave scratch marks in lieu?
Thanks for having me.
Oh, and another mate with an Elise said there might be Alfa track days at Knockhill - any ideas?
Cheers
