Re: 147gta,156gta,or gt 3.2,
Yes, the red one in Black and White was quite good - I asked the chap there (whose name I now have forgotten) if I may sit in it when I went to look at their two black 147GTAs.
Didn't think it would hang around for very long and it hasn't!

Re: 147gta,156gta,or gt 3.2,
Just come to this thread a bit late - my view is go for a 156 GTA SW, for the kids to get a bit of space on the back seat and to get a pushchair in the boot - the only way is an SW - I've got a 7 year old and 20 month old, and could sometimes do with more space now.
The SW's have a "bench" type seat in the back, the saloon has bump in the middle so slightly less room in the rear.
I love all the GTA's - because of my need for space, and I still want to enjoy a car - I went for the SW and now on my second, and I can't think of anything else that I'd rather have.
The SW at Sidlow's I think has 305's - but they have had it a while and should be up for a deal.

Re: 147gta,156gta,or gt 3.2,
There are a couple of black ones for sale on 'autotrader'. Lots of 147's as well as the two a 'Black & White' which I assume have both gone.
Can't remember but weren't you after a black or silver colour. May have imagined that.
If you trawl the web a few do come up in odd places.

i'm not trying to talk about the vr6 just a comparison as the original 260bhp graph went with the new owner.
And i wanted to put my GTA graph on.

The Shrek! Now you're talking mate
I had a schrick on the modded Corrado VR6 (pics below) along with a brand spanking new complete VAG engine, and a tasty sounding 6-branch (let the Chav/towny/wide-boy comments begin! ). Best sounding VR i've ever heard.
I also had a Vortech charger to go on, but sold it before installing it as I love the VR naturally aspirated. I also love charged VRs, but N/A power delivery does it for me personally.

Re: 147gta,156gta,or gt 3.2,
Alan is the guy I dealt with at Black and White. James is the other fella i've dealt with - the owner I think.
They have been nothing but excellent in my experience. Very helpful and polite etc. They have also done a fair bit of work on mine free of charge, purely out of good will (suspension arm, ARB, etc).
I think mine is the Silver you asked about 24v - a slightly darker than usual silver, and very metallic. It's gorgeous, and really shows up the lines of the car. I wanted black to start with, but after the black Rado I just can't be fekked with all that washing any more!

The vr6 highline was faultless, even the z engineering s/c never failed once, i only replaced the belt on the charger through ware and tare i had the charger on 5 years,Mine sounded lovely also, it is on the web somewhere video on the r/r.
It was so easy to maintain i used Mobil 1 in the s/c and it was only a cup full.
at least like me you kept your car looking original sleeper look bar wheels, exhaust, suspention, BTW your vr6 looks very nice and the engine as good as these vw v6 engines are i always wanted to try an alfa v6, so i thought it was time to move on,and i went straight for the GTA, drove it and i new that was it with v dubs the 3.2 v6 gta is something else .defineteley the best v6 around superb throttle response and a noise to make you shiver.

I'm also going to suggest an SW

Re: 147gta,156gta,or gt 3.2,
I'm with you 24v - dub time is done now.
I did think about the R32 but it's a bit OTT looking for me (Mk4) and the engine is seriously lacking next to the Alfa (true) V6.
Liking your old golf mate - modding consists of improving the way a car drives, goes and sounds to me. Aside from a bit of lowering and the odd clear repeater of course
So do you know Vince at Stealth? Bit of a wizard with charged VRs. Did you go MAFless or keep it?
Know anyone from the Corrado Forum?
Will
PS. DrJustice - we can appreciate all decent cars my friend

Dr justice,
The sw does look very smart indeed, .
i actually think the older vw's dont look to bad i think the mk4 can sometimes look abit whats the word for it .
double-6s,
I've emailed BlackandWhite this morning asking them to phone me once they locate a car,
they do sound nice friendly chaps, i spoke to Darren and someone who sounded a little older
also.
I like the look of there exhaust systems i may look in to them as well to finish the car off.
Vince at stealth ,he put polybushes and vibratechnics front engine mount on my car, and i bought a brand new schrick, then remap,
gearbox oil etc, and if i ever want to r/r my car i always use stealth, the other lads are cool too,the crazy corrado 1.8 20v turbo i think the lad sold it. oh yes i did keep the maf it was so smooth .
Attila.

Re: 147gta,156gta,or gt 3.2,
Have owned both a 156 SW and a 147 GTA - as someone who is 6'2", I find there is much more legroom and headroom for the driver in the 147GTA. I have three kids and we used the GTA far more than we used my wife's 7 seater soccer-mom-van. Great boot that seems to swallow up everything we throw at it. Would say that the 156SW had only a little bit more capacity than the 147GTA.

I think you may be right about the boot space, i too found the 147 GTA very roomy in the front, i found these for a comparison.
Boot capacity - Load capacity
156 GTA SW - 360 - 1180
156 GTA SALOON - 378 - 378
147 GTA - 280 - 1030
GT 3.2 - 320
BRERA 3.2 - 300 - 610
GTV 3.2 - 110 - 155
166 3.2 - 490 - 490

When is your 156 GTA coming? There are lots of GTAs in Tokyo - I probably see at least 2-3/day (in fact my neighbor and I became friends sinc ewe both owned 147 GTA Selespeeds!). Anyhow, this morning I saw a red 156 GTA with lowered suspension - they STILL take my breath away!
GTA - like great wine - it just gets better as the years go by!

also on the 02 156 GTA is there any difference in the interior.
I would be interested on thoughts of this car.

I don't know much about what a good price is in Europe, but I do know that one of the reasons I just sold my own GTA was that it was just about due for a new clutch and timing belt, which would have set me back close to 400,000 yen (a lot to put into a 3 year old car with 50,000km on the clock). The fact that the car you are looking at has a new clutch is promising, but definitely have a pro give it a good look over - I never had any major problems with mine, but I took good care of it - have heard that poorly maintained GTA engines can be a handful....
