GTA diagnostics lead/software

Does anyone know if or where I can get hold of a diagnostic lead and software to connect an 04 147GTA to laptop?
Am about to arrange a different garage to check diagnostics for the 3rd time to sort a problem I have had since buying the motor; have only owned it for a month now so I think its worth having the equipment to check meself!

There is only really one software availible and that's Alfa Diag. I didn't think it would work with yours which is why I didn't try it, but given Jeff's comments over on 156 I think there is a chance it will. If you bring it over I'm happy to give it a try but I can't promis anything.

Re: GTA diagnostics lead/software

Cheers Chris. I am still planning on giving that guy a shout your way but need to wait till end of the month till funds come in then have to go the states for a week.
Drove the motor down to Essex at the weekend so got to take it out for the first time round some of the sweeping lanes near the folks house. Was good to see that I still know them like the back of my hand, and was A LOT more fun in the GTA.. even more so than the ol days of rallying round in the XR2 at 18
On the other hand, the £130 fuel bill for the weekend was slightly upsetting - but to be expected

Did you make it to Oulton Park in the end?

Re: GTA diagnostics lead/software

As Chris155 mentions, there's Alfadiag. The AlfaDiag site doesn't make it obvious which models are supported. Although the site says "...a diagnostic software solution for Alfa Romeo vehicles built before model year 2001.", the author says that it'll support a 2004 model 156/3.2 and the FAQ lists the 147/3.2

This interface is said to work fine with AlfaDiag (just ordered one so I'll find out...).

Re: GTA diagnostics lead/software

Hi, I have a standard elm323 interface and use digimoto light (free download) software on my 156 gta (it worked fine on my old 2.0 ts as well). As its only a free piece of software it only displays a limited amount of parameters and these are all engine related (i.e. not abs or airbag stuff) but very useful for diagnosing the engine management light and resetting it, saved me a hole heap of money on my old car diagnosing lamba sensors ect and so far have only tested it on the gta touch wood! but a very useful tool to have none the less .

I know that feeling.... I managed to get less than 120 miles out of the last tank.(a full 60litres)

Oulton was absolutely brilliant.
