knocking noise, any ideas?

My 147 gta has a knock on the front. It occurs when i'm reversing off my path and i brake. It also occurs when am doin say 80mph and i slam on it does it quite bad so its obviously the quicker am goin the harsher it is what ever it is. Its almost like when av pulled away quick its locked into place so i could pull away quick from then onwards and it won't knock as its already locked in place if u know wot i mean, but as soon as i reverse it sends it the other way. I think its perhaps the wishbone bush's, any ideas? I'm goin the ring 2 wks thurs and i need it sorting so any help would b gr8!
Cheers.

Re: knocking noise, any ideas?

Havnt seen this type of knock on here before?
This doesnt sound like a worn ARB to me. I would try engine mounts or brake callipers/pads to see if they are loose??

Re: knocking noise, any ideas?

i am betting on play in the ball joint is causing the noise, which means you have to replace the lower wishbone. Try to spray thin oil on the lower wishbone bushes first though.. if they get dry they can make some noise.
