Re: Autodelta carbon intake upgrade

Maybe you haven't got to the end of that thread
I believe the consensus was it did make a difference.

Certainly it sounds fantastic, and looks great.
You would need to be rather sensitive/experienced to notice 6bhp or whatever is claimed without timing gear or a dyno run though.

Anyway there are other threads to add to rather than this one

Re: Autodelta carbon intake upgrade

Agreed. The AD CF pips i've seen all looked good, and soundtrack wise i think it adds greatly to the driving pleasure. Don't take the word from someone who bought a broken and used pipe on ebay for a fiver, and then went on some sort of crusade.. Who knows the origin of the pipe that was mentioned there, it could easily have been one of those Spanish made ones.

You would probably get the same results soundwise with any rubber or silicone pipe not fitted with ressonance chambers, but IMO they all look out of place next to an otherwise excellent looking engine bay. The AD CF pipe definitely looks classy in there.

Agreed 100% they are a lovely piece of kit...I checked the inside of mine after reading that thread, it was lovely and smooth no big chunks hanging into the airflow...

Hi Peter,

As the aforementioned 'person' in your post can you perhaps give some more info on the spanish made pipes? Its the first ive ever heard of it and would liek to knwo a bit more info please (as would others as there may be quite a few of these kicking around)

Just to clatify the mistakes in your post, the one I bought from ebay was about £60 rather than a fiver (without filter) and came from a fellow AO forum member. It had the usual Autodelta motiff on the outside.

cheers

Re: Autodelta carbon intake upgrade

I see, at 230E plus tax it would sem to be more expensive than the AD one. Have you seen one in person to check the quality?

Re: Autodelta carbon intake upgrade

nope, never seen one IRL. They might be in very nice bild quality. There is also some German made CF pipes on the marked. I think it was by Engstler, who also did a limited number of 156 GTA rear bumper diffusor in CF.

And the Dutch Madeno ones of course. Don't know who actually builds those...
