Close Call earlier today!!

Had to do a three point turn (well it was more 6 or 7 ) on a narrow country road this morning and as I reversed back, the rear end went into the grass/clay/mud verge. Thought I had bent or damaged the exhaust

Fortunatley it was OK, just a bit muddy, but then I thought, shame it hadn't bent or broken as that would have been a perfect excuse for a Ragazzon one

Still don't know whether to think myself lucky that I didn't have the expense of a new exhaust or curse it and wish it had been a touch harder!!!!

Cheers

Re: Close Call earlier today!!

In such a situation, always consider a handbrake turn Given the rubbish steering lock, I sometimes use this option on damp roads/car parks rather than a 57-point turn...

Re: Close Call earlier today!!

Cheers guys - I do agree, but was trying to think of an optimistic outcome had the result been a bent exhaust! If I had tried a handbrake turn I woudl probably have stuffed the whole side of the car - the road in question is about as wide as the car is long (maybe a foot or so wider, so a tight squeeze!). Road was also bone dry!!!

Cheers

Re: Close Call earlier today!!

Per,
I know the feeling - want to upgrade the exhaust, but cannot rationalise discarding the OEM one that has nothing wrong with it.

Anyone know how long the original exhaust lasts? (mine is 36K & 3.5 years old)

Re: Close Call earlier today!!

I think the standard one is Stainless, so in answer to your query on how long they will last - probably years and years and years!!!!

Cheers
