spark plugs for gta

I bought some iridium ones from www.sparkplugs.co.uk

Not sure, they have them on shop4parts though.

Just to say, on my last service (48k) the mechanic removed and cleaned the spark plugs, and said Id probably never need new ones, they were like brand new once cleaned. I can tell the difference from the clean aswell.

mine were FCUKED when I removed them. all corroded and that. straight to the bin they went.

so in this case iridium BKR6EIX are the best or standard pfr6b

I don't understand why someone would clean the sparkplugs and refit them for the sake of 30quid, it is false economy in my opinion. I always change them regardless every 10K so that i can keep the coilpacks loaded to a minimum.

The price of them is £20 + VAT, so thats around £150. Shop4parts have them for about half that. But why replace something that doesnt need it??

my plugs were only £30 ish for the set from alt autos. ngk platinums.

Gone up slightly, the iridium are still cheaper £5.72 v £6.97, what is with that, aren't they supposed to be better, harder, more heat resistant etc?

The Platinum plugs easily last 60000 miles (the normal replacement interval), the life of the Iridium isn't known.

There is no point replacing the Platinum plugs every 10000 miles, unless you have nothing else to spend your money on.

You can buy them on ebay for £30 inc P&P

Guess I'll stick to the tried and tested then, was going to get them done as a matter of course with belts but I will have a go at checking the front bank, leave the rear to the garage if they do need doing
