GTA display panel

Quick question for you other GTA users..

On the central display panel it shows the date and outside temp, but can/does it also show the time? There is a facility for the clock setting in the menu, but it does not dispay it!! All I have is the analogue clock, but my wife wants to see the time occasionally ( ) and wondered if the central display shows it?

I have figured out all the other functions (even without the benefit of the user manual).

One thing that made me laugh though was when my wife said "I can't see the speedo!" to which I said, "well that's good!!".

Cheers

Re: GTA display panel

and very good it is too - all too easy to hit 3 figures on the motorway (without the accompanying "slow down please...").

Any ideas about teh digital clock though??

Cheers

Re: GTA display panel

is the 156 any different to the 147 dash display? On the 147 the time is clearly displayed in front of the driver, however I have not had the pleasure of sitting in the main seat of a 156 GTA.

Yes! Completely different dash.

And you can't get the time on the 156 Infopod. Absolutely stupid, but you can't.

Re: GTA display panel

God knows why they put the clock option in the menu's then, unless it is just there so the calendar remains accurate!!!

Cheers

Re: GTA display panel

I suppose the large analogue clock right beneath the info display makes the time readout unneccessary. And if passengers want to see stuff, they should know their place and be quiet

Re: GTA display panel

If the time was on the central console then the analogue clock would be redundant.
I certainly perfer the analogue clock.
Anyway can't passangers wait until there is a fast sweeping left hander which should allow them a glimpse of the time ?

I always felt having the day and date on the infopod was/is a waste of time in a car, so they could put the clock there, and then use the analogue clock dial for something useful like oil pressure/temp.

Re: GTA display panel

I usually set my infopod to show the oil temp and leave that as the display - no point in caning the car until the oil is nice and warm.

It would have been better though to have the cental guage being an oil temp or oil pressure guage, and made the clock a digital clock on the info pod display.

Cheers

Is this unique to the GTA?

I can't seem to find the option to display the oil temp - and that would be quite useful (if only to break my current obsession with the mpg readouts )

Cheers!

Unfortunately yes.
It's similar to the display which shows the oil level on the the JTDs - which isn't on the petrols - which use oil.....
