Madness smashed car...

Sitting minding my own business in a car park when white van man decided to park in the space next to me...

...and MISSED!...

Not a scratch on the van. The space was just (barely) wide enough for a car, let alone a bl**dy van with extra wide bumpers. Can't believe he even tried.

Re: smashed car...

What an idiot!!!

I take it from your post you were in the car at the time and have his details. No offence to any van drivers but in my experience he would have just driven off otherwise.

Again though

Re: smashed car...

There was a guy parked opposite that was quick to jump out, as he hadn't seen me in the car, and was expecting the driver to do a runner.Gave me his details as a witness.
To be fair the driver admitted he was at fault right away (not that he exactly had any choice, but you know what I mean)

His insurance company have been pretty helpful so far, arranging collection of the car tommorrow, and sorting a hire car until it's sorted.

Looks I'll be driving a Vectra for a week or so...oh the shame

Re: smashed car...

Ouch! How did he manage to crease so much of the side of the car?
Did he not realise after the first sound of metal on metal that perhaps he was too close to the car he was trying to park beside rather than contemplating it as he continued on down the side of your GT?

If that had of been mine I'd have ripped his arm off and beat him to death with it.

Re: smashed car...

I feel for you Zulu..that is a picture worthy of crying over

Hope it all gets sorted (just had the same side of my GT in the same colour sprayed and I was pleasantly suprised at the job...paintwork was excellent...they just messed up the dorr handle when they refitted the card )

I had a similar thing happen to my car recently

Unfortunately, I wasn't there at the time, so I can only guess how they managed to get such a long dent into the car before they stopped

Update...

Car should be sorted by the end of the week.
Don't you just love Alfa. They have been trying to source a rear quarter panel for three weeks... and failed.
Eventually they have had to ship an entire side of a car from the factory, just so that the panel shop can chop the back part off.

Can't wait to get it back

Driving a Vauxhall isn't for me...
