Details? I just can't see how improving traction will increase understeer? Did you ask about the inadequate open diff that seems to break so regularly here in Australia?

Re: LSD Group order ?

No problem as for wear im not sure i adjust the race car one
twice a year as the preload wears off its not so much the plates
wearing as the spring washers that keep the preload

Yes that sounds like absolute poppycock!
Alfasud.ti also repoprted details of a positive experience in his test of a 300bhp GTA with Q2.

Adie you have some interesting stuff on your website allright
And I'm sure that 33 sounds good at 9400 rpm

Thats interesting, for the way my diff is setup for my heavily modified GTA it certainly still functions 100% after a year and 8 track days.
Obviously your race car would have hugely more full-on settings though.
My uneducated guess for a standard GTA that would be outputting way less torque than mine is that they would be fine for a few years but I just don't know how many years
I do know of some 3.7 GTAs that have had them fitted for > 2 years and still function fine, but I imagine a lot depends on how many track days you do.

Cheers,
TB

Re: LSD Group order ?

Hi
Yes i run more preload and more plate surfaces then you
are the preload helps the pins go up the ramps. As
the spring washers get weaker the preload becomes less
plus the race car is on slicks and getting a harder life then
on track days i do find once new plates are fitted once
its raced they bed in i reajust and it stays the same for
a fair while then .
I sell the same lsds you have in you car and they are very
good so im pleased they are good in road cars
they have 45 acc ramps and 60 braking ramps
and for road run only 4 plates out of the 12 you have
in there thats why they drive well
so if you want some more diff gripp you can just
move the plates around so you can have
3 plates
4 plates
6 plates approx 50% more
8 and so on
I just like to tell pealple that plate type can and i mean can
not always be a little noisey when turning etc
thats all the plate type is the best for out right performance

Adie you might be interested to know that I found the Redline friction modifier additive excellent for noise reduction for road use.
One little bottle does the trick, and the diff is essentially silent even for parking/reversing.

Of course you probably don't use this for racing since it reduces friction a teeny bit to reduce the noise, but for my casual track use at least I haven't noticed any difference in diff performance.
