156 GTA

new 156 GTA owner! hey folks

alrighty folks hows things! iv just registered, been watching the forum for a few weeks now, bought a red 156 GTA last month, with an alpine head unit with 6.5" flip out screen and a fancy sat nav system which is cool.im from aberdeen but travelled down to london for it, love the car its amazing to drive! handles great for a standard car and after driving audi TT's, mercs and a db7 vantage this thing shows to be prooving very good value for money in terms of performance for your buck,

although i have already had my fair share of problems with it, in true alfa style.

its a 52 plate and of course now iv warped the discs, being the 305mm discs, and as i saw the post about brakes iv been in contact with my dealer, (arnold clark) they have been very unhelpful but iv contacted alfa direct and seem to be getting somewhere,

but also 3 weeks ago the car wouldnt start, had it towed to mr clarks,(very unhelpful bunch of chaps) to be told it needed an ecu, thats a bit crap, thank god the car had a third year of warranty,so a week ago i get it back and all is fine and well, yesterday i recieved a bill for the work,(warranty have already paid for it) so monday i will be onto them telling them to shove that invoice where the sun don't shine.

yes so i am very chuffed with my new motor and the problems havent put me off it at all, its stunning, cant wait to get it on knockhill! thinking about the supersprint cat back exhaust and a few other wee shinys for starters then maybe contact autodelta for some real toys next year!

take it easy dudes

Nice to see that you are taking the "Alleggerita" aspect seriously, hollow legged one

Welcome to AO !

BTW I wouldn't bother doing the Knockhill track day until you have done the brake upgrade.
I think you will be suprised at the type of cars your GTA can put under pressure at the track once you have bonded with it (and the track).

Cheers,
TB
