New 147 GTA arriving on sat... :-)

Hi guy's,

I am picking up a 147 GTA on saturday, can't wait. I have wanted one of these for a while now after test driving one down in poole.

I have managed to find a Nuvola white one to with a high spec.

I'll post some pics on sunday eve I hope.

Is there anything to watch for ? obviously to check the oil level every week, but anything else ?

Mark

WOO HOO! white is the best colour IMO (I couldnt find a white one second hand... )

Make sure the engine is warmed up before booting using the handy oil temp gizmo and your all set!

Oh - and buy some shares in both Tyre and Petrol manufacturors.....

Yeah, take a chair and just watch your GTA standing there. Enjoy for a few minutes (maybe half an hour with a beer and a mate), and then take her for a quick spin.

Awesome !!! Congrats.

Pics are very welcome.....

IMO Red or Black is the best colour. I have black, but would trade it in for a younger red one any day.

But don't get me wrong, a white GTA is always very very nice. Just not my colour.

Good Work fella!!!
Have had my Red GTA now for 3months...
Find yourself a long tunnel or underpass type thing;
Put down the windows and floor it!!! The sound is like nothing else... Just watch the brakes when you slow down, you dont want to warp 'em; But thats a whole different subject.
But, dont let your passenger accidently put down the window when your doing 140mph. It will frighten the life out of you. You'll be as white as your motor.

Nice 1 Troll,you wont be dissapointed,and in white..vavoooom !
Yea just give the car a quick all round inspection i guess before delivery.Make sure they didnt stuff up the pre-delivery detail on the car.Check under the car and make sure your undertray is there, funnily enough some have gone missing. You may even want to check the spare wheel compartment and see if everything is where it should be.Some even come with touch up paint in the spare wheel well.
Yes it's an exciting time when you get the car in your hands for the 1st time, wish i could relive it Enjoy it.

Re: New 147 GTA arriving on sat... :-)

this one isn't brand new, its a 54 plate. I liked the white cause its rare and different, I had a Ren 5 GT Turbo years ago in a similar colour. Failing that it would of been red !

I don't like the dark colours as it doesn't show off all the black features on the car.. maybe thats just me. lol I did have a Cosmos 156 V6 and that looked great in the sun.. but everyone called it black !

Only 2 more days to go..

Has anyone fitted an additional hifi along with the Satnav ? is it possible as I only bought a nice Pioneer head unit a few month's ago and want to use my ipod with it, but I still want to keep the sat nav ! ?

I have only ever seen 2 147 GTA's on the road, a black one on the M27, and a red one the other day on the A40.

That's definitely something to look forward to. I almost bought a GTA last year but with the mileage I do and the scandalous insurance rates I'm afraid the head overruled the heart

Best of luck with the new car

Re: New 147 GTA arriving on sat... :-)

Honestly speaking I haven't seen a bad color on the 147 GTA, and I LOVE the white (though it is about a $3000.00 option here in Japan). For me though, red is the definitive color for Alfas and Ferarris and after compromising on color so many times in the past when I bought used cars, I am really happy to have a red one, since this was my first choice. I agree with what Guezen said - as amazing as this car is to drive, you gotta take some time and just sit and LOOK at her. It may be politically incorrect to stare at a beautiful women for too long, but your 147 GTA will just be delighted and know that your long gazes are a sign of your love and appreciation for a VERY beautiful creation! Enjoy!

P.S. for even more joy and happiness and smiles, try to hit more than 5000 rpm every chance you can, and engine brake as much as possible!

Congrats on the new motor. You WILL be happy - guaranteed !!

If I could have afforded the white, I'd would have - no question, you have the best colour - it's drop dead gorgeous.

We want pics ASAP

A very important point of GTA ownership (and though I was very gentle in running in mine, I found it very difficult not to rev that beautiful engine!). But I believe he said that he was buying a used one...

Alfa 147 GTA

Re: New 147 GTA arriving on sat... :-)

Congratulations!

I picked up my 147 GTA 13 days ago and each day has been an absolute joy. The initial driving from the dealer is absolutely guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

You will also find the climate control is a bit of a waste of time as you will drive everywhere with your window down, especially through tunnels

Great stuff - I'm glad there are others out there that don't put the mpg first in any car purchase decision! The White looks absolutely lovely too.

As you say, it's a pretty exclusive "club" - I've only ever seem 4 156 GTA's and 2 147 GTA's on the roads and I do a fair few miles...

Let us know what you think of it!

Visited my dealer today to get a free Alfa wine opener (an absolutely beautiful one!), and what did I see sitting in the showroom but a white 147 GTA with tan/black leather! I just couldn't stop looking at it! I agree that this is clearly the best color (though I do love the look of my red GTA as well) - it shows off the lines of the car far better than any other color, and really makes the Brembos stand out as well. Congrats!

In Japan, all the 156 GTAs are already sold out, and there are only about 20 147 GTAs left. According to my dealer, after that, it will be at least 2-3 years before another GTA is produced - let's enjoy our rides - looks like at least for the forseeable future, we've got the very best Alfa has to offer...
