glove box :/

how small is yours?

i can barely get a box of tic tacs in mine without them falling out/preventing it from closing - maybe alfa were being very literal, and it is only for gloves

And here was me thinking the GT glove box was quite good after the 156.

Re: glove box :/

Agreed, the glovebox is rubbish. It's small and the way it opens has a really cheap rought feel to it. It's probably the biggest letdown regarding the GT's interior (apart from the stupid armrest position), so if that's as bad as it gets, it ain't too bad

Re: glove box :/

Who cares about the size of the glovebox. It was easy to check that out before you bought the car. Or did it thrink after you ordered the car?

My glovebox is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge......

..compared to the one I had in my Giulia

Re: glove box :/

Well the one in the Alfetta GTV was perfectly designed compared to the 147/GT Glove box...Not that that is saying anything

I am not sure why Alfa Romeo even bothered putting one in the 147/GT seeing as it is basically useless .

Re: glove box :/

Well my glove box holds 2 CD wallets (24+48=72 CDs) all the car papers, a couple of spare light bulbs and a sunglass case
Relatively speaking it's huge

Re: glove box :/

Yup my glove box has a few spare bulbs, tyre pressure and depth guage wrapped in a bit of cloth to stop 'em rattling.

Well I think that's what's in there - Havent looked for a year

Why do cars have gloveboxes
Don't see anybody wearing driving gloves much these days

snip!
I suspect if you open the Glovebox door to check if the items are still there, then they are more than likely to fall out

Re: glove box :/

If you wanted storage, you should have bought a Transit

The glovebox in the 156 is HUGE conpared to the one in the C-class I once had - you couldn't even fit a CD jewel case in it

Re: glove box :/

i didnt realise this would be such a hot topic

maybe im using it wrong - i only have a cd case in it, but the only way to get it in there is to sort of balance it on that odd top ledge and then very quickly close it before it falls out

Re: glove box :/

What did Alfa expect people to put on that top ledge of the 147 / GT glove box? Ah but they did give us a pen holder though so cant complain.

I mentioned this fact & the lack of other modern amities that other car soffer & got a good ould " go buy an jap-crap car" routine.

Its my humble & honest opionion that most AR drivers are soooo ** ***** *** **** that they cannot see the short fallings of their cars. Modern cars need to facilitate modern requirement. Back in the 80's/90's we were luck to have cars that a/c, abs, etc....now even tractors have such things.

Its time that AR caught up with the rest & provided such things a decent size glove boxes, cup holdrs, cd holder that other cars can provide. What good is it to have sexy car when it means that when your wife & kids travel in it that they have no pleasure of travelling in the car that you *love*

Re: glove box :/

A lot of glove boxes these days are just not worth putting there at all - I agree that the GT glovebox is useless - I never keep anything in there. But has anyone seen the glove box in a new Renault Laguna - even smaller than the GT - but it has a lovely large if placticky lid
