My 12 CD stacker is more or less useless- skipping constantly. The dealer said they had "fixed" it by adjusting some screws after I asked them to look for the transit screws that are sometimes left in when they install- there is a shock absorber mechanism which requires orientation but I cannot find which way it should be set and its very hard to get to.
the result of the dealer's attempt was to make a small skipping issue 100 times worse
I am thinking of giving up on the dealer and taking it to an ICE specialist, but before I do that perhaps someone here can give me an idiots guide on what to look for- transit screws and the orientation of the shock absorber- the unit is in the usual GT place of little cubby hole above the left hand rear strut.
Practical help with a diagram or photo would be much appreciated, or perhaps someone has access to a fitting guide?
the irritating thing is that my last car, Fiat Coupe had a stacker with the same problems, the garage could not fix, but the new owner did immedialty. I play a mix of MP3 burned from the pc and shop albums, but mostly mp3- the recording quality may be a factor; before I took it to the garage it skipped every 20 minutes of so on average, now it skips every minute.
Do people find that it is worth burning the CD at a slower burn speed?
Thanks for any help
