GTA with new Novitec exhaust.

Guys,

Today the GTA got a new exhaust fitted. 4 pipe Novitec system.

The looks and sounds are awesome. Low revs and stationary the sound is much lower. High revs more racey. Sound in the car a bit louder. And when the mechanic drove by on the test run at moderate speed, the sound was brilliant.

This is one proud GTA owner. Worth every eurocent.

Take a look at the pics.

Grtz,
Robert Guezen

The only thing I don't like is that... we can see the pipe going from the original side to the other. Apart from that it's

Re: GTA with new Novitec exhaust.

G'day Robert,

How is the offset of the tips compared to the outlets on the back box?

Cheers

Isn't it the same on every 4 pipe exhaust?? I can see no other option to get a pipe to the other side. To much suspension bars.....

Unless it's the BMW X5 way!!! (Dummy pipe on the right hand side :-) Saw when a couple of months ago. Damp coming only from the left hand side. Shame if you know what these cars cost.... Or this was a retro fit exhaust???

And you can only see it when the car is jacked up. Standing behind it, you won't see it.

I'm very happy. This weekend she drove around 500k. The sound is even deeper now. I love it.

Battery of the videocamera is charging right now. Video with audio is coming soon !!!

Grtz.

Re: GTA with new Novitec exhaust.

Sorry for my english, but I think this is what you mean: If the pipes are in the center of the standard holes in the rear bumper.

It is pretty close. Ofcourse it will never be an exact fit. We needed to take 2 cm. off the right hand side to get the pipes exactly the same as the left hand (original) pipes. The right hand side was sticking out about 2 cm. more than the left hand side. Other than that, I think it is pretty good for an after market package.

We also needed to modify (read: deform with hammer) the original back box chassis cover and take off a bit of the body beside the towing hole on the left hand side. Nothing much I think.

I will take some close-up shots tomorrow.

Grtz.

Click on GTA3.avi (10 MB) !!!!

Here is a link (i hope it works) to a divx avi filmed from behind the GTA.

The final part is filmed from the inside of the GTA in a 50 km/h zone with the windows open. It isn't steady and very short, but just to give an idea.

Also some close-ups of the pipes.

Enjoy. (if the link is operational)

Grtz.
