looks great and fair price, same as mine except for the two tone leather, that looks great! One word of warning though, if it has an unused spare that means it only has the small 305mm brakes, however don't let that put you off as you should be able to get them upgraded under warranty(once you've warped them that is). Also it means that the car was actually built at the factory before november 02.
Also check this one out http://www.jcs.uk.net/main.htm

Not necessarily, some dealers are leaving the skinny spare in the boot after doing the 330mm upgrade because it can still be used on the back.
Also there is a different spare wheel available for use with the 330mm brakes on later GTAs and Crosswagon & Q4 (which also share the same 330mm Brembo setup).

November 2003. The 330mm production started shipping in Jan 2004.

interesting, I just got a lovely compressor and a tin of clag, the spare isn't much use if you can only use it on the back, best bit is you get a handy storage space in the new foam liner they put in the wheels place.

That's advertised in the club mag and Auto Italia as well.

Spoke to this guy at length before buying mine (new) - told him I'd giive him 18.5k for it and he refused then! Knew he would not sell for more than that... He is a nice, genuine guy though...

Re: Bargain GTA for sale

He mentioned having a 3rd child on the way......I would have thought the SW would be a good choice. Awfull lot of money to loose in 6 months.

Having said that, I've got my 1st little one on the way and we had a trial run at getting the pushchair into the 147's hatch. It was not the outcome I was hoping for. Wouldn't go in unless one of the rear seats was folded down. Keep an eye out for a 8 month old 147 GTA hitting the market soon

I'll try all my powers of persuasion first though..... e.g. Get a smaller pushchair

LakeM: Do a search or start a thread, I'm sure there'll be people on here who can advise you on what pushchairs and prams fit in the back.

Re: Bargain GTA for sale

Is there any official recall or notice regarding the 330mm brake upgrade?

Re: Bargain GTA for sale

Don't think its a recall, more of a fix if you report the problem. I took my (previous) 156 GTA in with warped discs, they said they would upgrade them. If you dont go to them though, or your discs aren't warped, you won't get them upgraded.

You are assuming he paid near list for it - he let slip to me he paid £22500 new (from his local dealer - didn't even have to use a broker to get this price).

The price he is asking now seems very reasonable to me...

As to brakes, it is a 2004 car so it should have the bigger discs, surely? My understanding was that the 156 GTA briefly went out of production (from nov 2003 until the start of 2004 ISTR) and all 156GTA's since then have the bigger discs.

As it happens, most magazines rated the earlier smaller discs as good, which probably once again shows just how "thorough" most mags are...
