But these are 18", Z-rated, high quality brand tyres. They're not £40 Kwik-Fit specials. You'd be doing the GTA a dis-service by fitting rubbish.

Re: 18" Wheels on 147 GTA - Help ? !

I don't know if there are some major differences between 156 GTAs and 147 GTAs, but I've been running 225/40/18s in my 156 GTA without any problems. They are a lot cheaper as 225/40 is much more common than 235/35 (PZeros are around 190 euros). The ride quality is not that bad compared to the OEM 225/45/17.

Thanks all of you who helped me on this -- i will be going back to dealer to get him to pay for them as car had bald on front when got it ! -- he said it had wrong size on and therefore would not put 2 on it -- good to see they know their cars so well -- lets hope i never need an engine re-build or they would be done for !!!

hmmmm...I did edit my post yesterday with a link to www.rubberball.co.uk who have the P-zeros for nearer £150, but it doesn't appear to have saved. Ah well, you're right of course: get the best tyres for the best price.

Re: 18" Wheels on 147 GTA - Help ? !

225/40R18 would be my choice.
Only 3mm bigger dia than the std 225/45R17.
225/35R18 are 19mm smaller dia than 225/45R17...

Re: 18" Wheels on 147 GTA - Help ? !

yes you can fit 225/40 X 18'' but this is not the correct size as per alfa!
and if you have fitted 225/40 X 18'' they will not replace wheel arch linner when you have rubbed a hole though it

any way not to carry out warranty work fitting wrong size tyre plays in to their hands, for the small saving or 225/40 over 235/35 is not worth it.
