Does the 156 have a body computer / module that controls the clocks?

Is there a module tucked away in the dash somewhere that has something to do with combining / sorting signals that go to the 3 dials in the middle particularly?

The temp, clock and fuel level.

Possibly a little white block?

Lol, no. No ECU controls the gauges.

A,

thanks for the reply. I wasn't thinking so much of an ECU, more a small little (white?) plastic module possibly, connected into the loom under the dash.

I have a vague recollection of something about the size of a cigarette box.....

Certainly am

The problems I have are:

1. The 3 centre clocks (water/time/fuel) don't work.

2. The lights do not come on on the speedo when the sidelights / headlights are switched on. Can't tell what speed I am doing in the dark!

3. Struggling to wire in an separate fuel level gauge because I can't quite work out the signal wire with the ignition turned on - it just shoots the needle way past full as if it is expecting say 5 volts and getting 12. If I can get the separate fuel gauge to work - then I do not need the 3 centre clock to work.

Thankfully it is not Canbus or else I would not stand a chance at all!

Why not keep the full wiring for the gauges ? They are not that heavy.

Loads and loads, bags and bags of wiring and bits came out of the track car.

Didn't realise the gauges were no longer working until it was too late.

Now trying to fix a few errors!

Been onto the Racetech gauge supplier and he says I need to and in a Racetech sender unit to the tank.

Going to have a look inside the tank and see what is possible....

i know on the race car we run we have a tank in the boot and a calibrated wooden stick to see how much fuel is left in lol, maybe it would be easier for you (only joking sorry i not much help)

my old capri fuel gauge never really worked so i always drove 100 miles filled her up till fuel drained out of the tank on the floor then i knew it was full,

on the e-type i tend to open the fuel cap and look in, if you can see fuel, there is enough to get you to the petrol station if your not sure. i dont trust the old smith gauges
