Radiator specifications/suppliers?

I have been allowed a whole day on Friday to get my cars cooling issues sorted.
I'm after a GTA radiator that I can plonk in given I'm going to be taking the undertray off, may as well do it all in one hit.
If you have recently replaced a 156 GTA rad successfully, what rad did you use? Where did you get it? What did it cost?

Hopefully I'll be able to get one ordered up tomorrow, delivered Thursday, fitted Friday!

Also, of anyone has the specs for a proper GTA rad, that's be great. It seems 580x394x24 is the size for 2.5 or 580x395x28 for 3.2. Are these right? Would a 2.5 fit a 3.2 properly.

Cheapest 2.5 aluminium one i could find on ebay (~60 pounds). Fitted 1 year ago, no issues since. At least not related to engine temperature

Just fitted my Rad, the cheap one I linked for £49.90.. was fairly simple but time consuming thanks to all the seized bolts. Havent tested yet as im waiting for silicone hoses and the steel lower pipe
I dont know about the 156 but I had to remove the bumper otherwise I would have been struggling for a good few hours.

Had a go at finding a GTA size one, no lick at less than £200 so I've gone for the £49.90 one off flea bay.

Called them. They said they didn't do a part for the 156 GTA, and doing a one off would be expensive and they would need mine as a pattern, as my car gets used most days, I can't do that, plus the cost would be more than I'd want to pay.

Well Friday came, and so did my new radiator, then the man from interlink express took it away again. I was making my way to the door from the garden as he drove away! He must have been writing his card as he walked up the drive. Off to get it tomorrow, day wasted, Grr!

Nicely done. Mines probably made of jam given the price! However, I doubt it can be as useless as the one on the car.

I'm thinking I should have spent more on an Ali rad, but horses for courses I suppose, and I now get to suck it and see. Will wait for a decent patch of weather, no work and no family commitments, probably done by August. Maybe.....

Just to update you on my rad (same as yours). All is good, takes a tad longer to reach 90 and stays there as expected. For the price ofnan oem radiatyor, I can buy a couple of these rads which will outlast my ownership. So hopefully it punches above its price tag.

For those that are remotely interested. My radiator arrived today. It's aluminium core and plastic tanks. Weighs nothing. Haven't fitted in, but it came from Romford Radiators, and at under £50 delivered, looks good. Won't know if it's any good until I e fitted it and run it for a while, but we shall see.

It is OK for UK use, for any ambient temperature higher than 33 degreesC it will overheat like hell....

I went for a Valeo rad at a cost of £299, peace of mind and longevity. Tried asking my specialist to fit a 2.5 V6 rad coz it's cheaper but he advised against as it is smaller than the GTA one apparantly. OEM rad from dealership was ridiculously overpriced.

Andy you've certainly been busy rebuilding your motor since you've had it fella, your wife must have the patience of a saint

only as no one produced pattern part for GTA where as they did for the 2.5, so you can find them easily.

In reality they're a perfect fit and match up just fine.

My previous GTA had a 2.5 V6 rad in it with no issues at all, fans mount just fine, pipes fit just the same and everything.

as with all radiators the biggest nuisance is the stupid clip on the bottom hose!

Not fitted yet, but given the only difference is the core is 4mm thinner than the GTA model, I'd guess it's s lot of smoke and mirrors in anything except the hottest conditions.
