Autolusso 147 GTA Nurburgring lap
Here is a link to one of my laps at the Ring this week end, I found the GTA great on the Ring and very forgiving, last time I was at the Ring it was in an M5 so quite a bits faster and for 5 days solid
The great thing about the GTA was it was fast enough and as I say forgiving, for anyone that has not been there it is a must do
I think we should organise a trip for AO members
Autolusso Nurburgring Lap 147 GTA - YouTube
I was not pushing it on this lap (approx 9.30 minuets) so a respectable time, see the speed the white Porsche GT3 goes past me

9.30 minutes + approx 1.30 minutes of the begining of the lap thats missed off the vid
Definitely got the nurburgring bug now and cant wait to go back. A lot less body roll now with the new suspension and ARB's too Ned. But still far too much understeer and brake fade if you ask me, although with the comfort the GTA got us to the Ring in then I think its a decent compromise!

Wow, the number of track prepped BMW's that go past you in the first few minutes... *******s. Looked like the car had a bit more to give, but of course there's lots to lose. Nice lap
Edit: was that an audi TT at 5:40? He was going well. What did the car keep beeping at you for?

It is indeed an 850r. They are one seriously quick car and highly tuneable.
I was looking at getting one a while ago but you pay a fortune for a good one.

That's had some good tuning work done to that one then if it's an 850r!

I was taking it quite easy, I was trying to make it a tidy smooooth lap
The beeping was low brake fluid

Quality and I'm totally envious
Ned, did you change tyres for the track or did you stay on road tyres?
Volvo 850 T5R, introduced to the BTCC in 1994 ironically the year that Tarquini romped to title victory in the alfa 155.
I was 19 then and my mates dad had a T5R and I kid you not that thing could hit 75mph in second gear as standard. Cars of that era like the cossies etc before them were crude and unadulterated, my Lancia Dedra integrale could hit 70 mph in second but then only having 5 gears instead of six ment longer gear ratios I suppose.
Ned, you should have tracked down Sabine asked her to do a lap in the GTA to see what time she could get out of it. Lol

I saw three types of drivers in that clip, the cautious, the insane and those who live there!

I had Sabine drive me round the Ring in the Ring Taxi (BMW M5) in 2008, amazing, did you know at 17 years old that girl held the lap record for the fast lap in a production car? ?
Standard road tyres and had to remember had to drive home in that car so did not want to break it
Ned
