Coilover time

Right i'm finally taking the plunge and ordering coilovers to get the GTA as it should be! I've been looking at these and reviews seem pretty good. From my understanding they are made by kw and produced in the same factory. They are highly recommended on the r32 forum. These are obviously pre-set factory damped which im not to bothered by because i cant imagine myself wanting to mess around once there fitted. my budget is about £700

Alfa Romeo 147 Weitec GT Coilover Kit £660.13 at Motorsport World

Along with the coilovers im going to space the wheels out as much as poss without fouling the arches

Try and get some good before as after pictures, preferably in the same location so it's easy to see the difference they made

I will try and speed things up with the exhaust, sorry it's been taking so long..

I bought them off DC Performance for just a little more than what your paying for yours

When they get fitted I will be having Eibach ARBs fitted at the same time so that might make the difference more though

What made you move away from the Jap scene if I may ask? as I have been looking at various Jap cars as I have that itch that needs scratching and when it comes to replacing my Cinq daily I may welll go Jap

Loved the jap scene until i went for a drive in my friends 156 gta. I then went to autolusso and saw a red 147 gta on coilovers and fell in love. I nearly have that car

Was a great car, never let me down and was fairly quick! i did exhaust and filter mods and it ended up as quick as a mates 106 gti.

Am considering some new coilovers with a max budget of 700 too.

Currently have fully adjustable intrax coilovers on my gta at moment which are superb but do need sent away to holland for a couple of weeks for a service and repair.

So was considering a budet set like the AP racing for £500 as a temp set but spending a little more might be worth it...

Any further forward in deciding which coilovers? Am gonna have to bite the bullet very soon.

So if anyone is serious about buying in next 2 weeks might be able to get a little discount if we work together?!

The B12's are on top of my list so far having experience of the b16's on last car

I will do a write up and get before and after pictures!

I'm guessing he ordered them from motorsportworld given the link above so £660 + £13 deliver.

I got them from euro performance in the end for the same price as above. I've used them lots of times so I thought I'd stick with them.

So similar price to the bilstein b14's from alfistsi. Though the b14's are arguably the better coilovers it says u need to order the 156 top mounts?! So that has put a little confusion over buying them..

I just fitted these to my car two weeks ago but with the original 147 top mounts. I had to alter them slightly and used some water tap seals between two metal parts that are in contact because I was worried about possible knocking sources.
They are of great quality and allow for camber adjustment at the rear. Couldn't test them yet because the car is at the garage for quaife, cambelt, antirollbar, wheel alignment.
They however are quite stiff but it works on our good roads in switzerland. Not sure about the uk though, some people said they're too hard for your roads.

Can give you more infos about the topmounts if you decide to buy them!

Here in Switzerland the regulations say that the indicators need to be at least 35 cm off the ground. Even with a 30 mm drop you go below that limit. Solution for the problem here is that you remove the original indicators and fit some of these chavtastic led indicators, go to the mot centre where they will measure the ride height, put 4 of their fattest testers in the car and drive around in circles as fast as they can to check for rubbing in the arches. When everything is fine they list the new suspension in the registration document and you're off again! Of course I will remove the stupid led indicators and fit the originals again afterwards.

I tried a 147 GTA with Bilstein B14 coilovers on and I thought it was waaaay to hard. But thats just me, I'm not a fan of hard suspension. But I would rather pay twice the money and have a set of KW V2s.
