standard exhaust

i currently have an autodelta exhaust but i have decided that i am trying to take the car back to 'original'

unfortunately i dont have the standard exhaust and have no real understanding as to how noisy they are and whether they are prone to rust etc...

rust leads me on to whether i should buy a new standard exhaust or try and pick a second hand one up?

and on either of the above where is the best and cheapest place to get them?

My standard exhaust is on the way out and I mentioned to my specialist about getting a stainless one, but keeping the sound fairly standard and he pointed out that the standard exhaust is only just on the way out after 9 years, albeit only 50k miles. He recommended just getting another standard one.

£300?

going to have to check whether i just need the back box or the full system...

can we order them direct from alfa still?

the car only does 2000mls a year max so i dont see a standard exhaust being a problem

I seem to remember the back box is over 400, and that was 2 years ago.

Here is one for 120 EUR:
Mercato - Der Alfa Romeo Fahrzeug- und Teilemarkt

Otherwise get a Scorpion. Very close to OEM as far as I'm aware and much, much better quality I suppose.

When you say volume do you mean size or noise?

Noise. but only on idle really..

I'm assuming the autodelta system is silenced.

I got some prices off the parts dept and they even told me to get a SS system

Getting a full, cat back system made - and the flexi's replaced for about the same price an original mildsteel backbox off Alfa (£440 all fitted) from a very well repected local place.

I have just purchased a centre section for mine, from main dealer. Came out at £195 after asking for discount (I think original price is £240).

I replaced my back box a couple of years back, and cost similar (around the £200 mark).

I havent had to do the front section yet....

As an aside there is a bloke (Panic) in the North East section who asked me to make him an offer for his centre section (from a 3.2 GT, not sure if its the same?).....(was too late as I had already paid for it!)

Who is making that for you then if you dont mind me asking? My system is starting to get a little rusty and may need replacing sometime soon.

Cheers

AAS - Advanced Automotive Systems Ltd - Nationally renowned for quality craftmanship

There was some very kinky stuff in there when I called in.

I've been told I've done well to get a slot (although it was more than a month wasiting time) without knowing them.

Actually - it is a little more as the two flexi's were about £70
