GTA First Service Interval

Hello

I've done 4000 miles in my 156GTA now and looked at the service book to see it says 12000 before the first service, coming from Audi with its variable service interval that seems a long time since the PDI. Does anyone have any recommendations as to if I should get it looked at earlier?

Thanks

Fu

Hello,

The first service of the GTA is nothing but a visual control of all fluids, you can definitely afford to wait until the 12k miles. You may want to get an early oil-change though, especially if you haven't done one since running the car in....

Re: GTA First Service Interval

12,000 miles on a new high performance engine before first oil change seemed wrong to me.

Thus I had an an oil and filter change at 6,000 miles (3 or 4k might have been better) and the service with oil change at 12,000. That service isn't anything more than oil change, fluid levels check and inspection.

At LC Motors the service only cost me £114 VAT and materials included. £30 less that Cleveley Cars quoted.

Re: GTA First Service Interval

12,000 miles is far too long for a sports car (wouldn't go that long for my wife's Toyota!). Having my first fluids change and computer test of all engine systems done tomorrow at 1500 km (about 1600 actually). Since I'm using 100% synthetic oil, I will try and force myself to wait 5000 km more before changing again, but in actuality will probably do it earlier. Point is, never heard of changing oil too often hurting a car, but the opposite might...

Hard to find but yes, that is precidely what they use at the Alfa dealer - I get 3 "free" oil changes with the plan I signed up for, so I'm not sure what oil I will use after that (Selenia is close to double the cost of Mobil 1 in Japan). Any suggestiong for after my three "free" changes are up?

I would imagine in Japan you get some very unique Sythetic Oil Blends
