VDC System Failure on 147gta

Had this come up last night when getting back to the hotel - almost missed the turning so had do a rather quick stop - when then turning at a very low speed, the computer flashed up a VDC System Failure, with a constant beeping. I bounced the ignition and it never came back... is it something to worry about??
It has seemed fine this morning going back to work

I think if you're concerned, see your friendly dealer. My feeling is that it's probably OK and that turning it off reset the error. I'm getting the occasional rear fog light error, but this is so minor I'm just ignoring it. And the fog light works in any case.

I get VDC/ABS error's almost daily. The sensors are over sensitive. Ive even had the body computer replaced in my car (different issue) and it still happens. Ive never noticed any difference in driving dynamics or breaking when the errors come up. So I would not be concerned.

My mate had the fog light error and the dealer told him there is a bulletin on it.
For the VDC error, it is best that they plug in their diagnostic tool as todays on board computers will record the errors but only for a limited number of "key on".

Re: VDC System Failure on 147gta

I have had the VDC error when I almost stalled the GTA and one other time on a poor gearchange, I think its related to current drop under those situations, never had a problem, it also went a bit haywire on the rolling road but again a restart and a bit of a drive it cleared up, certainly worked a treat when I made a small error in judgement the other month so if it goes away I doubt its broken.

I have had that problem many times before. Like others here, I turn off then on again.

It's a joke really. They keep telling me that they have changed the switch?

Re: VDC System Failure on 147gta

Not that I have VDC or that stuff, but I have experienced a similar issue under hard cornering with the oil. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to read exactly what the error code said, but I just put it down to pure low oil levels and during the turning the sensor jsut triggered the alarm.

Does the VDC work in the same/similar way? - liquids being g-forced away from the sensor and thus provoking the alarm?

Just a thought.
