Chilling Individuality Rocks

Took my Bella out for a run this weekend from Ipswich to Horsham, approx 250 miles roundtrip. Sooo torquey and smooth, reminded me of my beemer, and great noise blasting away from the tolls at Dartford.

In that time I saw 8 RX8's, 5 350z's, numerous Porsches (the love of my life), and a couple of Ferrari's, but no GTA either 147 or 156. Since I have had mine since January I've not seen another 147 GTA, apart from the demo car at my local garage.

How many of us are out there, and where are they ?

Are there any plans for a national meet ?

p.s. I have also never had a car where people move out of your way so frequently, even on the M25 !

147 GTA

Re: Individuality Rocks

Not sure about your location, but I thinkt there is only one other 147 GTA in Canberra, apart from mine and a red one in the dealer's showroom. I love that V6 kick. Did a quick trip to Tharwa and back. Too much traffic to press on, but still very enjoyable.

Re: Individuality Rocks

A silver one passed me on the M27 this morning, heading toward Chichester. Fortnuately, it got caught in some traffic, as it gave me a chance to get a really good look all the way from Havant to Chichester (about 6 miles) before I had to turn off.

Very nice. Looks a lot more muscular than the standard 147.

Re: Individuality Rocks

There are quite a few of them over here, but then again the Swiss market is notorious for its taste for powerful cars. Back when there was only one model, more than half of all A3 sold here were S3's. I see a lot of "older" people driving GTA's, that's because when they pop in the showroom, they just want a 147. And since they don't know which one, they buy the the most expensive one..

But I am happy to say that I haven't seen an exactly identical car to mine (Cosmos blue with tan leather)

156 GTA

Re: Individuality Rocks

I have only ever seen one other 156 GTA in Edinburgh where I am. It lived on the same street as me till I moved away - probably why I changed my 147 1.6 to get one.

Also seen two 147 GTAs around town. One black and one red. Its kinda cool being that bit special.

Not quite as special as the Montreal or the Gallardo I have also seen around.

Re: Individuality Rocks

Have travelled from Norfolk to Lands End and to the far north of Scotland and only seen one other 147GTA on the road (in Norwich.)
Only other one was in the Italian Alps despite a month there and three weekends in Milan/Rome.

Re: Individuality Rocks

I saw a silver 147 gta in Amersham last week, got a flash and wave.... and I see a red one identical one to mine in Hayes quite regularly... funnily enough every time I go round his house

Never seen any others on the road though..
