What no leather

Test drove a 147 GTA today. See my thread in 'General Alfa Discussion'. Anyhow was an 'amazing' machine to drive and that's probably an understatement. Instantly hooked. The odd thing about it though is it hasn't got leather seats??? I was very surprised to say the least. I thought leather came as standard on GTA's? Any ideas GTA people of ze world? It's the only thing from stopping me buying instantly!

Re: What no leather

Yeah, standard leather in the 156 GTA but not the 147 GTA. Personally, leather is amust in my book!

Re: What no leather

Not a fan of leather IMO. To be fair, the GTA stuff is fairly good, but its still hot and sticky in summer and cold in winter.

Give me a nice covering of alcantara any day

Re: What no leather

What do the non-leather GTA 147 seats actually look like? Because my favourite style of seat is the one that came with the 156 SP1's, I believe it was Recaro, not leather, grey cloth, looks great.

If it's anything like that then it's probably quite decent. If however it's standard cloth trim then you might want to shop around for an example with leather.

Re: What no leather

I'm pretty sure they were recaro. Black and red. Did look good

Have just found out the car is not available anyhow as the fella never part exchanged it in the end. He might be on here actually? Drove down yesterday to Nottingham from Edinburgh for the red RX-8? Anyone?

Re: What no leather

Seats are identical I think, just cloth covered instead of cow.

They're not Recaro though.

Yes, mine were!...and there exactly the same as the leather ones not recaro thou. Really wanted the GTA when I brought it but really missed the leather. The only deciding facture was that it only had 5k on the clock.

Re: What no leather

Don't know why I thought otherwise...

Yeah couldn't be doing without that sweet scent of good quality leather, only niggle against the seats in general is they look like they might weigh one or two kilos heavier than they could have been. Love to have the seats out of the 8C they look nice and light.. the rest of it too while we're at it

Got it, heated seats weren't an option with cloth on the 147, the GTA must've been the exception.

Re: What no leather

I was surprised to see how many 147 and 156 full leather interiors were on ebay, about £200-250 should get you a full set and door cards, not bad really.

I learn something new everyday...

mine has the leathers.... and the tan centre peice, looks soooo leather is the way, in summer park the whip in the shade, that way your leather stays cool

and your dash doesnt fade...

I give mine a body shampoo and conditioner for the dash every Friday.....(essential in these parts, the sun is so harsh).
