Another GTA Q2'd courtesy of Autolusso
I will try and keep this short, but basically I intended on getting my ARB changed and a Q2 diff when the MOT was due. I thought this was next month, but found it ran out this Monday. Not expecting Autolusso to be able to do it at such short notice, I was surprised when calling Ned he told me to bring the car round that night.
The car had been feeling sloppy which I assumed was the ARB now with a lot of play, but it failed MOT on one of the lower wishbones and the other was advisory. Autolusso had the parts and fitted these as part of the job.
I could go on, there were some problems with a bolt on the diff/gearbox but Ned persisted and wasn't beaten by my car But it meant I didn't pick the car up til tonight.
As for the Q2 itself, well it is amazing. I had a crappy day but all was forgotten when I got my car back, with all the new suspension it feels like new. Ned gave a demo of the diff with his car and a roundabout, and it is awesome. The car is so chuckable it should be wrong! needless to say I went down my favourite road and was astonished! And ended up with a huge grin on my face.
As well as all this, I ended up with a GT diesel courtesy car with the P-Box fitted. It was great fun, and having driven a 156 2.4 20v I would say the performance was comparable.
So to sum up I give a big thumbs up to the Q2 diff, the P-Box if you have a diesel and most of all a big thumbs up to Autolusso. To fit me in and do that amount of work in such short notice, was unexpected and a very pleasant surprise.
Cheers Autolusso

Re: Another GTA Q2'd courtesy of Autolusso
You're making me jealous! My bella is still in the bodyshop and I won't get her back until I return from a business trip next week I miss her - the Q2 is just so good.
What's more, I only got a Nissan Primera as my courtesy car But I'll let Ned off as he and the guys did such a great job and have been so helpful in making my bella even better
Cheers,
Nigel

Welcome to the Q2 experience, glad it all went well and full marks to Ned.

Re: Another GTA Q2'd courtesy of Autolusso
The Q2 is great and so is Auto Lusso!
The trouble is, now that the diff is that much better, it shows up the other flaws, like my tires, oh and, I really would like some new shocks...most of all, I need a higher paying job and a more understanding wife!

Re: Another GTA Q2'd courtesy of Autolusso
Popped into my local Alfa Romeo dealer this morning for a touch up stick(That's another story!!!!) ended up costing me £506.99!!!!
Well that's what I'm going to tell the missus, got chatting with the Service manager as he and all his staff where drooling over my GTA.
Happend to mention my next modification will be a Q2, he told me that they had just fitted one to a 147 GT, for £499 all in.
He said they would do the same for me, as they are a bit quiet at the moment, and he'd rather have some work than non at all!
So I'm now waiting for a phone call to arrange when she's going in for the operation!
Can't wait, so excited, ah, but then I've just remembered my Girlfriend is coming home tonight, any ideas on how I can explain this little amount I've just spent???
HELP!!!!

Re: Another GTA Q2'd courtesy of Autolusso
This sort of thread makes me think, in line, output shaft to prop shaft, with centre bearing support, then a good old toughie hypoid crown wheel and pinion set up. Ok, if the prop goes, you may make a pole vault record, but the boxes don't burst as much!

Err, don't tell her? She's hardly likely to take a look under the car and say "I notice you have a new limited slip diff fitted. Would that be one of those Q2 thingies I have been hearing so much about?" Just keep shtum and don't blurt out "Wow this Q2 that I had fitted for 500 quid is AMAZING" when you are driving around.
Enjoy it BTW
Cheers,
Nigel

Re: Another GTA Q2'd courtesy of Autolusso
Cheers for the tips lads! I came clean and told her about the touch up pen, and conveniently forgot about the Q2 bit!
And to answer EddieGTA, yes it is at a Main Dealer! Hence my surprise at the cost!
Also, they were saying that they are getting more and more requests for the Q2, and they can see Alfa putting the price up in the near future! Makes sense!
They called me today after my posting on here, and have had to order the parts from Italy, so will be a small time delay, can't wait though!

Reading your first post, does that mean you have paid for it before getting the work done?
Alfa have now put the price of the Q2 up, it is now £50 more, I was expecting it to be more than that.
There also should be no problem getting parts as all the parts are here in the UK, no need to get anything from Italy.
Don’t worry they are probably just trying to work out how to do it
Ned
