Hmmm Re: Check your top engine mount

Hi All,

And thanks for a great info site for a new alfa romeo owner

Where would i find these tops mounts on my 156 GTA -02?

I'm totally new to screwing at cars but i'm sure i'll manage as long as i get a picture of where to find it

Have a look at the picture of it further up this thread....

Its at the back of the engine block on the left hand side. Black bar that has two rubber joints on each end.. There should be no movement on it.

There's no picture that will help him identify it on the car. I know because I'm still waiting for one to appear to prove me right about the three bolts

BTW, it made a big difference. Car feels really tight now. Just drives so smoothly.

Cheers,

I concur after having mine done last week, really tightens up the power delivery.

Re: Check your top engine mount

I checked my top engine mount, and the rubber seems been split a little bit, but the engine doesn't move easily, when I try to check if there is any movement the whole cars moves along, so despite of the rubber being not in optimal shape, the top mount should be OK?

Re: Check your top engine mount

If you wiggle the top mount does the metal bar move? If it does time for a new one.
