Radiator life?

While having some other work done, the radiator on my GTA was removed, and the garage pointed out that it was pretty much done for, and would need replacing.

Seems a bit odd, only done 40k and <4yrs old - is this the norm? It wasn't leaking prior to the work, so it must just generally be shoddy.

Can't remember the last time I replaced a rad on a car that wasn't touching space mileage or well into its second decade...

Re: Radiator life?

Pretty much normal for me. The one on my 156 TS needed re-coring at around 50K and the one on my GTA was on the way out at 53K.

Cheers,

Nigel

Re: Radiator life?

Is there a decent long life alternative?
