Re: The *real* Q2 GTA

Not sadly at all Nigel. It's worrying the amount of people on here who seem to believe you have to be doing three figures to be having fun.

I tend to stick to a rule of not more than 10mph over the limit on a road (and not over the limit at all in 30 zones). The fun in the GTA is getting to that figure

Re: The *real* Q2 GTA

You're right Bazza. Once you get above 80 on the motorway it's boring - you could be driving anything. I use your rules btw. It's the twisty bits that are fun, even more so with the Q2 and the new suspension.

Cheers,

Nigel

Nice one Nigel. Q2's are great aren't they
As a general query how much were the coilovers without the other work?

Q2s are indeed great. The Koni FSDs aren't coilovers per se, they are replacement dampers that have progressive damping. Not adjustable but great for me (heard too many stories of people struggling to get the right settings on coilovers and I'm not technical or an expert driver). I think the FSDs were around 400-500 quid and the Eibach springs about 180. Ned did break it all down for me but I didn't pay that much attention. Give him a call and he will give you a more exact price.

Cheers,

Nigel

Ditto to both you and Bazza, over 100 and it can be goodbye license. Where is the fun in that? Only place I will touch 100 is a stretch of quiet dual carriageway, and that is rare. Just went down there to check the car out before getting the ARB and Q2 done, as it has some roundabouts to throw the car through and undulations. It sure showed the ARB needs doing now, twice I heard a loud knock/bang and am sure it didn't bottom out.

Oh yeah, and I think you have made my mind up on the next mod, those FSD's and Eibach sound good. Will have to have a chat with Ned when I see him.

I'd just like to point out that my car has only ever seen above 90 3 or 4 times....

Re: The *real* Q2 GTA

The final test for the Q2 - drove on greasy roads today. The kind where you want to drive normally because the surface is just a bit wet but with not much standing water, but where I find the GTA at its most skittish as it can really struggle to get grip. Well, as you would expect it was fine - I was able to accelerate smoothly without losing traction (even when turning) and it still sailed through twsity bits at speed. And I don't even have decent tyres - 3 P6000s and 1 Bridgestone inherited from the previous owner. I'm sure it will be even better with Gooodyears all round (will do when the current ones wear out).

But I'm sad as bella is in the bodyshop all week getting a full front end respray. Still, at least I will get a verdict on what is causing the rust on the front wing from an Alfa-approved bodyshop.

Cheers,

Nigel

Booked in and dropping it off with Autolusso tonight, Ned's a superstar. There is short notice and then there is realising your MOT runs out on Monday (today) on the Saturday before

Bit of road I am on about is Bob Dunn way AKA University way, nice quiet stretch of road with no pedestrians so a good place to "check" thing out

BTW, hope you had a good break Simon!
