Coil pack query

Guys, are the V6 coil packs supposed to push tight onto the spark plug, like the ones in the TS engines? I've got a problem with cylinder number one not firing and was a bit surprised, after removing the 4 bolts, the coil pack just came away very easily, like it was just sitting there. Is there any way to test it?

Certainly the spark plugs look like they are the original ones, something I'm a bit surprised about (but that's abother story) so I'll be swapping those out anyway.

Re: Coil pack query

Problem sorted Replaced all the spark plugs (they looked terrible) and swapped the number 1 coil with the number 5, just in case it was at fault and I needed to get at it again (number 1 requires the removal of the intake plenum etc, bit of a *****). One thing I did notice was that there was a bit of water in the bottom of the number 3 plug tube, not sure where this would have come from There is a bit of plumming in that part of the engine bay, so maybe there was a leak, or someone was a bit careless in the past...? Anyway, mopped it up dry by feeding some paper towel down there. It's back to running on 6 again, and the computer's engine warning went away after a good drive

Oh, in answer to my original question...it seems the V6 coil pack (GTA at least) just has a little spring inside to apply some positive pressure on the top of the spark plug. The TS ones push onto the spark plugs.

My 164 has the same spring arrangemnt. All 24V coils are the same, I believe.
