Re: autodelta carbon intake
the exhaust is original, the carbon intake is the only modification.
I have another video onboard, the track was really slippery with a lot of mud and some gravel...a lot of fun for my first track day...

Re: autodelta carbon intake
Will one of these fit onto a 3.0 GTV? I'm planning on picking one up soonish, so would also be interested if it will fit. Cheers!

Re: autodelta carbon intake
ok, I've ordered up one of these carbon pipes from Japan. Will let you all know how it goes. I did ask to purchase a number of them but I was told they are produced in very small numbers every month so a discount of only £10 was offered per pipe. Not really worth it especially as the bigger the package, the bigger the risk of it getting stopped at customs and them whacking a great big surcharge on.
Anyway, watch this space. I will pass on the details on how to order. In the meantime, you can relax knowing I'm the guinea pig

Re: autodelta carbon intake
Ok chaps, got the part from Japan this morning! Took me 5 mins to fit, looks superb and best of all I didnt have to buy an autodelta one!
The email address to order is: flatout@f6.dion.ne.jp
The part is: FLATOUT¡ÃSTORE¡ÃGTA¡¡Line¡¡Alfa¡¡Romeo¡¡147GTA/156GTA¡¡¥«¡¼¥Ü¥ó¥±¥×¥é¡¼¡¡¥µ¥¯¥·¥ç¥ó¥Ñ¥¤¥×
(japanese site)
Same for both 156gta and 147gta.
Cant really notice the sound of it too much as I've recently fitted a csc backbox. As for more power, well I doubt it. But it certainly looks good in there and de-clutters the engine bay so a tart's accessory more than anything else! Quality of the part is first class with a nice 'GTAline' label under the clear coating.
Btw, customs didn't get their grubby fingers on it. Hope you are lucky too.
Flatout only accept visa card as payment and you will have to submit all your card details in the email when they request it. So you have to trust them. I haven't seen any bills for strip joints in downtown Tokyo yet

Re: autodelta carbon intake
Got my AD one this morning, second hand from Green Serpent for a good price (cheers mate! )
But I have to say, its made sweet F.A. difference, compared to the corrugated tin that it has replaced. Sounds about the same, throttle response is about the same (not that I could imagine it being any better), performance seems about the same.
So overall, a complete waste of money. If you want to replace the standard airbox, get a decent free flowing self-enclosed filter like the CDA and then any old bit of tubing to take it up to the intake.

Back on the road: Alfa 156 3.0 24v V6, Silver with red leather, Q2 diff, 17" GTA Teledials, headlights & inlet manifold, AutoDelta carbon intake,
SuperSprint exhaust, Dastek Unichip & FK coilovers - my 245bhp beast!
Gone but not forgotten: Alfa 156 2.4 JTD Veloce, Vela Blu, Angel 'mad map' & BMC CDA, Ferodo DS2500s - the fastest tractor in town!

Never Never never and a few more nevers put your cc details in an e-mail.
e-mail is a store and forward system and mail can be deverted and held on servers in varying places around the world - by your isp, by their ISP before it gets to them.. there is no encryption and your details pass in the clear.
You have been lucky once - I really cannot stress this enough don't do it...
the mail sits on a relay transiently for a period of time and a 3rd party can therefore read the mail....
SImes.

Its not them you have to trust, its all the other people that have access to your mails on the way...
Do they speak english? Can you order over the phone?

Re: autodelta carbon intake
ok guys, Im not sure what else to say. Emails are not as wide-open to fraud as some people suggest. And its no different to ordering anything over the phone as you still have to give your card details to that person and that person could then go out and use your details.
Flatout is a legitimate company and they offer alfa parts. Thats all I can say. Dont like the process? Buy one from autodelta.
No point gettting into a big discussion about credit card fraud as there are other places to do that. This thread is to discuss air intakes available on the market.

Re: autodelta carbon intake
I can't stress enough, how much better the Asso pipe is than the AD pipe....another point to note....I recently saw an AD pipe up close and compared it to the Asso one...the AD one has a "Squashed" flattened bore...where as the Asso one, is the same rounded bore all the way through....would appear a much better design for airflow! Not to mention the finish and build is FAR superior to the AD one also....

Did you ever get it rolling roaded before to see what it was running at with the AD pipe and map?
I'd be interested to know

Re: autodelta carbon intake
By the way - as you are installing the GSR pipe, what are you doing regards the cold air feed and the filter itself? Have you decided on a solution yet?
When I spoke to the German fella (sorry, forgot your name ) at GSR, he suggested I source a circular airbox from a 3.0 GTV, which he would modify (don't know how) for me at no extra charge as part of the GSR induction pipe package. Inside would sit a simple cotton filter. Apparently this is the best solution in combination with the GSR pipe for high peak airflow, as rolling road proved at Red Dot. Better than a CDA on the end of a GSR pipe, better than a K&N on end of a GSR pipe, etc etc..
Any thoughts?
