GTA Day 2008

GTA DAY 2008
OK chaps, what do you think about this for 2008, any ideas are very welcome.
Eurofest Action Day.

Saturday 6th September 2008

Castle Combe Circuit Motor racing circuit, Car Race meetings, Motorcycle Race meetings, Driving Experiences, Track Days, Gift Experience Days

Eurofest highlights the best of European car manufactures. It is the only track event that celebrates the Continent that invented the motorcar.
The display area is divided into country of origin i.e., German, French, Italian and British manufactures, to make it more user-friendly for Owners Clubs and visitors alike.
Entering it's third year in 2008, it is our fastest growing Action Day.
Numerically, the French clubs have been the most prolific, but this year we expect a much larger contingent of Italian clubs and owners.
Sessions on the circuit are open to all cars but with some dedicated sessions for country of origin.
New for 2008 will be 'New-to-Track' sessions, with the lunchtime giant Euro Cruise open to all Owner Club cars.
This year we will be celebrating the BMW 3 Series as our Theme of the day with owners of this model particularly welcome and enjoying their own parade session.

FACT FILE.

SESSIONS: 09.00-17.00
ADMISSION: In Advance - Adults £8 Under 15's FOC
On the day - Adults £10 Under 15's FOC
TRACK TIME: In Advance - £25 per session
On the day - £30 per session
Special Sessions: New to Track, Country Of Origin.
Castle Combe Phone: 01249 782417

Eurofest will highlight the best of European performance car manufacturers. The display area will be divided in to relevant sections i.e., German, French, Italian and British manufacturers to make it more user friendly for owners clubs and for visitors alike. This event looks likely to be a major success in the Action Day Calendar.

Re: GTA Day 2008

Hi Stu

This would be great - I think I'd be up for it.... but not brands again ?????

If we can get an idea of numbers - how about a block booking as some nearby hotel ????

We could do Brands again but with no Alfa racing i am not sure if it would be the same, i did think about it but i then thought that Castle Combe is on just off the M4 & very easy to get too, even if you have to use the M5, the M4/M5 Junction that takes you to CC is just 15 minutes from CC.
We did talk last time about watching the 8c racing but i think this is a bit far away, i can see a MiTo Touring car maybe next from Alfa in 2009 as the Punto is used in Rallying, maybe?
Then a GTA meet at Donington at the AROC trackday in October?
I stayed at Brands over night last year, but CC is a lot closer to me this year but i would still be tempted to stay over night if a few of you guys wanted too?

I also think that this thread should be a sticky in the GTA forum & not in the International forum, then even casual forum GTA owners will see the thread, i am not sure they will see it in the International forum?

If the Mod's could do this that would be great, not sure if it can be done though?

Thanks for the interest so far chaps

Re: GTA Day 2008

Hi Stu

Good idea but I,m not sure I could make it, what with the distance and AROC live the week before, Autumn Italia day on the 14th and Goodwood the following weekend. Not to mention the track day in October.

If I did it would have to be for the day and Gaydon would have to take a hike!

I don,t suppose incorporating Donnington on the 25th Oct would be any good??

Your wish is my command.

Moved back to GTA lounge and stuck..
We'll will need to create an event too though. Need to make it fit on the calendar.

I will link to it from here later.

Re: GTA Day 2008

Hi Mike it's busy being an Alfaholic, it's never easy fitting it all in, it's only a new thread, lets see if it's popular or not?
I would think a lot of the guys will be at Donington on the 25th anyway, 2007 was fantastic fun.
There was another reason for Castle Combe, if the GTA meet is going to be an annual Alfa meet it would only be fair as fair can be on the travelling time for everyone, Brands East 2007, Castle Combe West 2008, Donington North 2009, an Alfa GTA triangle.
Keep the ideas coming.
Stu
PS. OA, lots of thanks, what you say goes.

Re: GTA Day 2008

Hi Phil, it's a long way to go for a GTA meet, are you still in Ireland? we did have a fun time last year & it would be great to meet you & hear about your EVO Monster.

This is what the 2008 Castle Combe Guide has to say.

loveyouralfagta ~ View topic - GTA Meet 2007 Brands Hatch WTCC (Photos)

This event at Castle Combe is celebrating the BMW 3 Series, not sure how they would take too a bunch of GTA's rolling in, this could be fun like last year.

Re: GTA Day 2008

In Spain we have done meetings of 14 GTA, all 147.

In the normal meetings we are about 7 GTA, now one 156 GTA is coming with us.

I have been to a 2 Air shows & they are amazing, not an easy choice, but if we have half the fun we had last year at Brands it will be a great day out.

Nice one Cul, hope to meet you soon.

Re: GTA Day 2008

Not for me I'm afraid. I'll be at AROC Live on August 31st and couldn't justify another Alfa event the following weekend.

Cheers,
