Re: GTA Day 2008

Just remember guys, this is a Euro Fest, so it is open to all your Alfas, when you see a lot of GTA's together like last year, as we drove into Brands, more people were looking at the GTA's than watching the Ferrari's racing, it was a lot of fun.
Cheers
Stu

Re: GTA Day 2008

Hi All,

StuartAlfa is concerned that he's not been able to get on AO today to remind everyone that the meet is still happening. He's posted on AROC to say 'help', if anyone can get onto AO would they mind doing him a favour and just adding a post. I seem to be on, despite the problems earlier, so this is a shout to you all on his behalf. Cheers.

Re: GTA Day 2008

Hi all, looks like things are getting back to normal, here on AO, big thank you to the guys sorting the problems out & too mwuk for your post, cheers.

Yes, the meet is still on, even with this mad weather, i have had more emails & it looks like there will be 2 or 3 GTA's going out on track, if you can't make the day, i am sure there will be photos up soon enough to make you wish you had come along LOL.
It's a bit like last year, with GTA owners being busy people most leaving it till the last second to see if they can make it?
Anyway, Brands Hatch last year, Castle Combe this year, maybe the 3rd GTA day will be a Donington 2009 a nice Alfa Triangle.
Just meet me at Junction 18. M4 from 9am till 10.30am for a bit of GTA fun.

Hope you can make it.
Stu

Hi Stuart,

Where exactly is the layby? Just looking at the aerial photos on google maps and it's not immediately obvious. Do we head north on the A46 and then immediately right onto that little C road? That seems to be the only layby I can see.

Cheers

Hi Aubrey, just follow the sign posts to CC from J18, on Google earth take a look north off the (Bath) roundabout J18, just after the 1st junction you can see a red car & black lorry parked on the left hand side by the trees (This is a wide road), there is a high quality food van on the left hand side, it will take about 10 mins to get to CC from here.
Cheers

Re: GTA Day 2008

Saw a couple of you guys on track today, cars looked great shame about how disappointing the GTAs sound from outside, having had a 147GTA and knowing how great they sound inside I kind of expected more from the side of the track, must have been one of the quietest cars on the track

Might have just been because you weren't going very fast shame I no longer have my GT JTD I would of shown you boys how to do a quick lap

Re: GTA Day 2008

Pics are here.

Excellent day! Had a great time and LOVED the track time (even if I did upset a mini driver!). Really good to meet up with other GTA owners and see all the cars together, both parked up, on the road and on the circuit.

Thanks for organising Stu - see you next time.

Cheers
Aubrey

Re: GTA Day 2008

I forgot to mention - I zeroed the trip computer before I went out on track.............

Fifteen minutes, about seven or eight laps, top speed 115mph, never got higher than fourth gear and the average fuel consumption was ................

8.4mpg!
