You leave it on? I never have it on in my twinny.

I've been told that if you turn it off on the GTA you can kiss goodbye to the front tyres in no time!

You can't permanently disable it. It keeps coming back.

Yeah but it's got the heavies on its side hardly a fair fight.

Just as well the mighty finger can crush its commands

Re: GTA Reliability Facts

I hear everyone talking about wheelspin and understeer. I have never had any of these issues even when i do spirited driving. I'm surprised why people always complain about wheelspin.

Re: GTA Reliability Facts

There aren't any issues if you stay within the limit of grip, just that that limit can be extended with the help of the differential, working immediately unlike any traction control system.

Being FWD give it some stick and it will understeer, but I think it is a great acheivement of alfa's that it has 250bhp and is so manageable, you really have got to be silly.

As for the cost, it is a high performance car and has prices to match. My main dissapointment is the suspension bushes etc. Servicing has not been that bad, though getting the belt done early with a 4 yr service cost me the best part of £800, need the ARB sorting out, but consider that an opportunity to get the Q2

Same with gearbox, bacon would have paid £2600 for the gearbox alone if he hadn't got that one from the GTA AutoLusso is breaking..

I think GTA's are more reliable than the TwinSpark, but there's no denying that if something major goes wrong it is a financial catastrophe.

I can’t see how you can directly compare the two like that.

Would you compare the repair costs of a BMW 318 to an M3

The other thing you have to bear in mind is that the previous owner of Bacons GTA used to leave the car sat around for months on end as he’s in the army and used to use the GTA at the ring so i would suggest that perhaps the gearbox could have been looked after better in its short life.
