What Simon said. You'll get used to the power very quickly. I found the intake pipe upgrade gave me the low end pickup I wanted once I got use to the power. I'm happy at the top end and have avoided a remap because I think it will play havoc with the insurance. But there are lots of other nice things to spend your money on.....
Cheers,

£4000 is what I'm after for my twinny. I think it's a bargain given it's condition and the love it's had.
It really is a stunner.

Thanks to the torque I find the GTA a very easy car to drive and get along with in everyday driving, it can be driven in a very lazy manner... or you can nail it if you wish and listen to the orchestra under the bonnet

I agree with Eddie - you don't have to drive it like a quick car at all, if that's not the mood you're in.

Good buy why you waiting sooooo long to get it. £1700 for insurance, I thought mine was bad at £430 for a GTA!

Who are you trying to Kid.....
Day 1 OA collects car, Drives it home tentatively...in the evening temptation gets the better of him so slopes off late at night to find a quiet stretch of road.
Day 2 OA gives Augusto a call and asks when he can fit the car in on the rolling road and get it re-mapped.
Tell me I am lying Joe

Ahem..
Q2 before remap.. I think PF pads are required in combo with some Red Dot discs.
More important to stop first than go quicker

Problem is as you start to go thru the rev range, you start to hear that tenor bellow and your foot mysteriously presses harder. its unavoidable. you WILL give it a wellie-full everytime you drive it.
Congrats on the purchase as well. quite a step up from the TS too. You'll have to get used to the staring and ogling from pretty girls as well.

I wouldn't go for the grooved or drilled discs, the 330mm discs are big enough to absorb all the heat your likely to create with fast-road braking, especially as you are going to be using a pad like PF which operate better at higher temps than the OEM pads. I was speaking to Ned the other day (regarding my 330mm upgrade plan) and he said essentially the same thing, which makes sense.
Although I must admit my 20 grooves do look very cool

Re: I've just bought a 156GTA and guess how much...
I took Ned's advice re the disks and stuck with OEM ones. The performance is phenomenal with the PF pads (on 305s). I was having a drive around last night and I couldn't find anywhere that would be an issue with the brake set up I have now (not even close). I think if you did serious track driving the 305s might still have an issue with overheating and fade but I can't see any issues now in road use.
Cheers,
Nigel
