New CSC on my 147 gta

Well, fitted my new csc rear section today and am very pleased with it. Removing the old one was quite striaghtforward and it came away no probs from the centre section. Fitting the new one was a little tricky but not a major hassle. Had the old one off and new one fitted in about an hour. Was pleasing to do it myself.
Apparently this is a new exhaust on offer from csc for the 147 gta. note the actual box section to the right which fits up and under the rear bumper. Pipe then bends around and strangely, the chrome pipes are attached on and not actually part of the exhaust. Done to provide the option to fit new or different chrome pipes perhaps? Not sure.
Anyway, see the pics and see what you think. Its very different in looks to the exhaust I was expecting but very happy none the less.
As for sound, well I can assure you its not boomy or boy racer at all. It sounds very like the standard one at idle in fact and only when you get the revs up high does it sound really quality.
I must say the design of the old one does leaves a lot to be desired. Not a huge difference in weight between the two but still the csc is noticeably lighter.
Im might paint the rear of the box (which faces out) as its very shiney and a bit distracting (see first pic). Very clean fit in that theres nothing hanging down lower the bumper.

Looks good

The report on the sound is quite reassuring too as i don’t think mine is going to last much more than 6 months and was at a bit of a loss which make to go with

Re: New CSC on my 147 gta

yea possibly. After I fitted mine, I turned the key and was expecting it to be loud(er) and well, it wasn't. At idle, it was just the same. You can tell the exhaust is different to the standard from the warble, just a bit deeper on idle. But defo no increase in noise. Same applies to the cabin. Not boomier. Quite surprising really.

Now give it a good wash and wax.

Very nice!

Interesting design, makes good use of the space under there. Agree about the box, some matt black furnace paint would finish it off perfectly.

It'll get louder as the baffles fill.

Looks good, but sticks out further than the CSC's I've seen previously?

Thats what i was thinking... The CSC i've got has a nice tight fit without sticking out too much. Easily sorted though Ohwell, if you know a good fabricator.

Re: New CSC on my 147 gta

Its interesting that they can sound quite different. Here one:
YouTube - CSC on Alfa 147 GTA

And here's UKOldSchools:
YouTube - 147 gta csc back box idling

Which sounds quieter - maybe its just not bedded in?

And here's on for you - CSC quad with Novitec straight-through pipes :O

Re: New CSC on my 147 gta

maybe from the angle of the pic, it looks to be sticking out further but actually when you stand away from it, it looks very tidy. Remember I said the chrome pipes are not welded on. You attach them on. Its quite odd but csc must have their reasons. So I reckon I could push back the pipes further but as I said it looks good in the flesh.
Mattyb, the ukoldschool exhaust was the one I was expecting but as you can see its very different. I paid £320 for it btw. I'll get on to the supplier today and ask them why its been changed. Its completely different as you can see.
Yep, the car needs a good wash but I must admit it looks great flithy!! Had it up in Wales a few weeks back on some amazing b-roads and never washed it since.

Re: New CSC on my 147 gta

Your exhaust must've come in on the same shipment as mine, still waiting to fit mine though. I was a bit worried when they said the design had changed, but it looks good to me! (still haven't looked at mine yet!)
