147 GTA - removing VDC?

I would be grateful if anyone can help me with removing VDC from the ECU. I am turning my GTA into a racecar and basically the VDC is a major problem. If the connection for VDC etc is removed an error message gets sent to the main engine ECU and it will go into 'limp-home' mode. Does anyone know how to change the software in the main ECU to prevent this error occuring? Many thanks

Welcome to Monza Motors

These guys have prepared a 147 GTA for racing - haven't dealt with them myself so no idea what sort of help you'll get, but maybe you can give them a ring.

Welcome to AO..

You might have to bin the Alfa ECU altogether and go aftermarket..

Re: 147 GTA - removing VDC?

I thought that the 156 GTA doesnt have VDC - is it possible to use the ECU from the 156 in a 147?

Re: 147 GTA - removing VDC?

Thanks for that. We have to use the production ECU, so the 156 GTA may be the answer. Next question is where to get one??

Re: 147 GTA - removing VDC?

Have you tried disconnecting the steering wheel position sensor connector in the steering column, I haven't tried this (...yet) presumably the beep/message would come up but no limp mode?
