I currently have 225/45/17 summer tires on my 147 GTA.
I thought of buying another set of wheels from Alfa GT together with 215-45-17 winter tires,
would they function ok considering all four of them are the same size?
I know I am losing a bit of tire width, but other then that is there a problem?
I Have a Quaife diff as well.
215/45R17 are listed as a chainable winter size for the GTA.
So the tyre size is ok.
You'll need to check that the wheel clears your front brakes though.
I don't get this whole "Winter" tyre business. Are "Summer" tyres really that bad in Winter (I know the answer to this btw!)? And what is the definition of Winter these days anyway? OK I just checked and
it's the coldest season of the year, in the northern hemisphere from December to February and in the southern hemisphere from June to August.

Can you really be bothered with changing tyres / wheels for 2/3 months of the year?
Conversely, what would happen if you were to, God forbid, run "Winter" tyres in the middle of summer? :yikes: It's BS!
Ive always used winter tyres. When the temp gets low enough you can feel a big difference between summer and winter tyres and obviously more so in the snow.
I wont be using them on the little IQ this year. But if i was driving the GTV i would buy a set.
