Well there i was thinking nearly a year gone since alternator change and bar a service shes only cost me a coil pack, when low and behold my italian mistress throws a wobbly.Lovely morning, autumn sun shining and the dreaded motor system warning flashes up,car stutters a few times as i pull away from traffic lights, another coil pack i think, but no, worse is to come, next minute clouds of white smoke belching from the exhaust, starting to sweat, surely not a head gasket.I manage to limp to work, park up and start worrying, give local indie a ring and he kindly comes out to have a look.
Try to turn her over but does not start, try again, and nothing, just a click, aqua lock...?
Next its back of a low loader and off to garage, local indie thinks its head gasket too.
But two days later she drives back into my work place,i can't believe it...local indie tells me that it was an injector stuck in open position filling cylinder constantly with fuel which i guess was igniting on the exhaust stroke to, causing clouds of smoke.Piston then filling up with fuel when i turned her over later on causing lock.
Can't tell you how relieved i was, car back on the road and at a fraction of what it could have cost. But i had such a fright, she seems to be running fine again, wouldn't be the same without a bit of drama now and then!
