I just went with the cheapest premium all things listed, works for me

Gave up trying to explain the stiffer arb though phoning around. "Is your car a convertible sir?" No, no, anti roll bar! It's connected to the suspension.... "One moment please... are you planning on taking your vehicle off road, unfortunately our policy will not cover you if you decide to do that" With my ground clearance? No, it makes the suspension stiffer... "..." ... Oh wait, I told you about my suspension already, never mind

My current policy claims to offer a like for like basis on mods so anything happens will be replaced with the same which is a plus, something worth considering with upgrades when renewing.

True, also gives a better seating position I've found, normally you sit quite flat. With the rear more level with the front you are cradled back into the seat.

Re: 147 GTA upgrade advice!!!!!!!

Who are you with?

I couldn't find anyone who would (reasonably) cover my mods, and I ended up with a company who would cover them, but not on a like for like basis, so if I have have a big accident, I'm gonna lose quite a bit of money!

Guess I just need to be careful :P

Re: 147 GTA upgrade advice!!!!!!!

Adrian Flux, on a limited milage policy for 5,000 miles, do between 5-6k, so if and when I exceed that I need to pay a little extra depending on how much time's left, competitive price too even if it was without mods, four hundred and something quid (clean licence). With Admiral before that, couldn't match it and not like for like.

Tried the cheapest on moneysupermarket, kwikfit I think it was, gave them a call to see if I could add the mods and it shot up to something like £1700

Re: 147 GTA upgrade advice!!!!!!!

If you buy a second hand car and it comes modified. If you say not to my knowledge are you covered? i.e. are you reasonably expected to know if the previous owner moded it?

Re: 147 GTA upgrade advice!!!!!!!

The part numbers are listed here Goodridge Brake Hose Kit for Alfa Romeo

To clear up some earlier confusion, the parts listed for the brake upgrade were small metal pipes connecting hose to caliper pictured the actual lines remained the same, so...

156 GTA 305/330mm & GT 3.2 - SAR1402-4
147 GTA 305/330mm - SAR1502-4

Add the material of the fittings required to the end of the part number

C = Stainless steel
P = Zinc-plated mild steel

All car brake-line kits are supplied with a clear-cover, with ‘Goodridge Print’, hose as standard. If a different colour hose is required then select one of the following. See below for colour examples.

Black - BK, Carboline - CB, Clear - CL, Electric Blue - EB, Orange - OR, Green - GN, Red - RD, Solid Blue - SB, Yellow - YE.

For example mine were SAR1502-4C-RD

Re: 147 GTA upgrade advice!!!!!!!

Come with the zinc plated ends which are probably just as durable, given the option though I'd contact them to get stainless steel, a good price there!
